Cheers for that. I have it on a tape from the London based Bobby Vincent show on radio. Probably in the 80's. If I could dig it out easily I would but have hundreds of the tapes all c90's so that's a lot of delving. Did do a youtube/google search and did find a slower male version but not the one I'm afraid.

As a small-time collector and not one of those who buys records just because they are in vogue at the moment I could just say that looking out for the odd ball and rarities is very much easier these days especially with the knowledge sharing internet. It isn't like the old days where you just bought blind. I must say as a retired gentleman with time on hands, first chore of the morning whilst eating my toast and marmalade is trawling through the sales sites be it ebay, soul source or whatever. My preferences are for the off-the-wall records mainly 60's or earlier, R & B, beat ballads, popcorn and tend to stay away from anything later ( I do think even the pop scence took a spiral down swing after 1968?). I also used to listen to Richard Searling's Sunday radio show every week (even used to tape them) and the guests he got on broadened my very small knowledge of what was to be heard. From these I would say that the ones I found most interesting were Ady Croasdale, Andy Rix, Nancy Yahiro, Roger Banks, (dare I say it) Ian Levine and others. Today's fountain of knowledge has got to be Pete Smith, with his very enjoyable and interesting podcasts. Again some of the ones he plays, I make note of and source. I do remember once watching a Northern t.v programme where a serious collector did say that the enjoyment was in sourcing/tracking down a rare record more so than it landing in his hand. Quite agree with your. remarks. I am old school, no talc, no silly swirly skirts as it is now so much in your face that it is becoming a "pop" culture. When my wife, Janice and I go out we do so to "be at one" to dance to a particular record, not taking F%%king selfies. I do resident at a monthly soul night and prefer to finish the night playing records that are ignored by some d.j's because they are cheapies, not in vogue at the moment or they have never heard of as they've only been into the music for 5 or 10 years not 45 years. It can be a struggle at times when you are playing these and someone comes up to and asks for The Exciters : Reaching for The Best to which you reply no don't have this one and he gets upset and says every decent northern Soul D.J. has this one. As for youngsters on the scene, how many have been nurtured by their parents? Enough said really could go on all night.

Soul Source : The beginning?? Are there any members out there who remember how and what actual date Soul Source was initially founded and by whom? I've been a member since 2005 and still have recorded tapes of downloaded Soul records but can't remember any of the other Facilities? Well I don't think Tommy is worth that so maybe a tee cut try?

The wood glue removes the ingress from the grooves. A well known method but not to yourself evidently. (loads of you tube links to this method by the way).

Hi Anyone? As a small time record collector who finds that mending “wounded” records very therapeutic, (i.e. do tend to play them rather than drool over the condition) I was just wondering if anyone has used Tee cut?. Bought a rather badly marked Tommy Navarro for a pittance but is really badly marked (see photo). It does play through okay but with constant bacon and egg frying background noise. Have lightly sanded down the bumps but thought a tee cut then wood glue might help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance Ian
