  1. I have the whole show on one or two tapes and have edited onto one I am listening to at the mo (whilst fitting a wood burning stove). Am away tomorrow but will try and find the tapes but will probably have to burn onto a c.d. or another tape and post them on if that's okay? The Levine show was the one where he played David Huff's Mary Browne and I ended up with 3 copies of this one. I've since sold 2 of them on one to Mr. Levine himself, another gem me thinks??
  2. Haven't a clue, just been playing old tapes of Richard Searling's Cellar Full Of Soul, could be one of Mr. Taylors from about 10 years ago. There is also a Carl Carlton take of the Terry Callier : Look At Me Now on the same tape. I think Ian Levine found this one. Interesting stuff? Best, Ian
  3. Someone should know this one!! Hopefully.
  4. Can any knowledgeable soulie help me identify this male beat ballad. Could be called "The Stranger" as one of the lines is "he was no stranger to town". It could be an obvious one, but any pointer in the right direction would be appreciated. Been bugging me all day this one so have actually (in a fashion) managed to copy from tape and attached the mp3 download. Perhaps a step further?? Many thanks, In Anticipation, Ian the stranger.mp3
  5. Try Goldmine Big City Soul 4 c.d. Copy by Chuck Jackson credited as a previously unreleased track.
  6. Hi Pete, Yes Guy used to play the Backstreet instrumental. Last time me thinks at Skipton many moons ago, but he told me he had to borrow it back to play it out. I have a tape of this one from the Richard Searling's radio show when it was played. Awesome instrumenal. Best, Ian
  7. Well chaps it's still up for bids about 1 hour left. Too pricey for me and have the Oliver one anyway, not in brilliant shape but for $30 I'm not complaining. OOPS it's starting to climb!!
  8. Here's a new one to me but then again not a trainspotter. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/The-Steinways-Youve-Been-Leading-Me-On-Sparton-Canada-Northern-Soul-/311114812154?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item486fe34afa
  9. Must be a blimp in the system, first viewing didn't show your list.
  10. Thanks chaps bought it cheap enough and better than the boot I used to have.
  11. Can anyone enlighten me to the authenticity/origins of this one sided acetate? Johnny Vanelli 7 days of loving you One sided metal acetate single Allen Zents Mastering 6255 sunset Blvd, suite 1909 Hollywood, Calif 90028 (213) 462 3323 Any info would be appreciated. Best, Ian
  12. I suppose it depends where it's played out then, can't see it going down well at the Bradford Rare and Underplayed venue or the 100 Club but despite the dislikes I've heard a hell of a lot worse (Carstairs record spring to mind!!)
  13. Well, perhaps, maybe?? They play that Line-dancing tune Tyronne Barkley Man Of Value at Soul events and at least you can stomp to this one. I'll give it a go in a few weeks and let you know how it went down.
  14. Yes used to have one of these myself but now own a proper one. Not everybodies cup of tea but I heard it in the Highland Room in 1971 when they were playing the Mickey Lee Lane at the handbagger venues and have always liked it.
  15. Many thanks for the informative reply and my apologies for misleading you with regards to the reference to Manship. Didn't really post this up to ask if anyone liked it, just wondered if it was a legitimate record or a "made for the market one" i.e Detroit Sound, Four Vandals etc.
  16. So you're not impressed then Pete?
  17. Can anyone enlighten me of the legitimately of this record put out by Mr. Manship ? He states it is taken from a studio acetate but the fact the record has a different spelling to the christian name sounds a bit strange. Anyway rightly or wrongly I've ordered myself a copy, always a sucker for a different take. Any information would be appreciated. Best, Ian
  18. Someone got a bargain then.
  19. Maybe not, unless you reside in California?? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271501628174
