Yes Phil, John lives across the road from Fran, soon to live next door. Met him many years ago in town (Skipton) and had a chat. Doesn't go back as far as Fran and the late Les Cockel but must admit he first introduced me to the music in 68/69. Like you say people may not wish to remember "the good old days".

Hi Julian Doing this as a favour for Fran O'Brien who I meet up and try selling his records quite regularly. I've just noticed I have spelt his name wrong should be Deryck. Used to see his sister who lived in Salterforth and she did mention that he was still around the area, with his records in the loft. Fran said he went to the Wheel and d.j'd at Harrison's and Thornton Manor.

Never went to Harrison's Hoist but did go to the Manor on Friday nights and Sunday. Fran said the Manor used to be a very big mod club in the mid-sixties. Have looked for Derek on facebook but without success. Nearly found his whereabouts years ago when I met up with his sister who lived in Salterforth. A lot of this goes on I'm afraid (I'll do yours and you do mine). Didn't appeal to me when running the L.M.S. in Skipton thus the attendances were very much up and down (down being the norm). Don't get a lot of calls to d.j. around my area but must say the new Skipton promoters are genuine and appreciate my attendance and spots. Likewise Pete at Fulledge, Burnley pays a decent fee (just pity we don't go down there anymore due to a certain "showman".

Best event for me and my wife has got to be Twisted Wheel (Alter ego) Manchester. Being of that age 60+ no frills, no emphasise on playing "rare".
