We arrived reasonably early only to find a fair number of Soulers already in attendance. It was our second visit to The Hangar and it was good to see that the dance floor had been updated making dancing somewhat easier on the body. Event Date: 2 Nov 2024 The word iconic seems to be overused these days, but not when it comes to the glider, great instant atmosphere as soon as you walked in, greeted by the Duo on the decks then 30 years a dj Martin one of Boston favourites, Billy brought all the right tunes for the crowd is he psychic? Dave brought his northern dancers, the Bassettlaw djs brought us some cracking tunes that we rarely get to hear this way, gents toilet not so iconic broken and dirty . Dave adopted Sheffield as his home and was actively involved in both the soul scene locally and globally. This is the first time he has been recognised for his huge contributions to the Deep soul and his longstanding connection with Tamla Motown and other genres of black music. Anyone with any love of the music should be aware of Dave's influence. You are all welcome to attend this event in Sheffield at the Picket Music Park, Charter square in Sheffield. We will be holding a small tribute at the Frog & Parrot nearby where we will be playing some of Dave's deep soul.
