  4. Event: Culcheth Two Room Soul Night Special Guest John Vincent Review: 5 stars by Bazm. 2 member rated this review helpful. Event Date: 6 Jul 2024 Gotta thank everyone who came to CULCHETH on Saturday, to be honest I thought we would really struggle with the England game being on and peeps partaking of the amber nectar then deciding to continue to partake in more amber nectar BUT we didn’t, so there was a good crowd in the club on Saturday for both the Northern room and the Modern room. Crackin’ sets from the DJ’s in both rooms. First got to mention CHARLIE SMITH, for opening proceedings with ... Tap to view the full event review
  5. Event: Rishton Soul Alldayer Ian Levine Ted Massey Review: 5 stars by Fergy. Event Date: 7 Jul 2024 Went along with Mickyfinn & our Crew . Had a tremendous day. My first visit but certainly won’t be my last enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. We were one of the last groups to leave, which is becoming a bit of a habit of ours lately . Huge thanks go out to everyone involved with putting this amazing day together. K.T. F . Tap to view the full event review
  6. Event: Rishton Soul Alldayer Ian Levine Ted Massey Review: 5 stars by Mickyfinn. Event Date: 7 Jul 2024 Thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Sunday. I knew it was going to be good day when I walked through the door and Tez Howarth was playing Corey Blake, then one great tune after another, including the top modern track by Raphael Saadiq “Love That Girl”. Glyn Handforth was up next, a great set including The Soul Communicators and Papa Bear. So much for quiet Sunday, straight onto the dance floor. Geof Swallow, played some good R&B tracks with ... 7. Event: Culcheth Two Room Soul Night Special Guest John Vincent Review: 5 stars by Mickyfinn. Event Date: 6 Jul 2024 Another great Saturday night at Culcheth. Charlie Smith got things going with a good mix of top draw tunes including Richard Caiton, Bill Bush and Cookie Scott. Simon Ingham, brilliant as ever, never fails to know what is needed to keep that dance floor jumping: The Falcons, Nat Hall, Herb Ward…… John Vincents spot was superb, quite a few that were new to me, but every track it seemed, memorable, standout for me The Martinques : “If you Want... 10. Another classic 70s soul album set up for a vinyl release via Ace Records and their Southbound imprint Millie Jackson - Feelin' Bitchy -Southbound LP SEW 172 Due out the end of the month, and avail for pre-order right now Release notes clip... In the spring of 1977, Millie Jackson was down in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, laying down tracks for what became “Feelin’ Bitchy” with co-producer Brad Shapiro. Released in August 1977, the album reached #4 and #34 in America’s Billboard’s R&B and Hot 100, going gold with over 500,000 copies sold. Jackson’s cover of ‘If You’re Not Back In Love By Monday’ – already a hit for Merle Haggard in March 1977 – also reached #5 R&B and #43 in the Hot 100 in August. Although the album did not chart in the UK, “Feelin’ Bitchy” sold strongly to a dedicated fanbase who had voted her the #1 female singer in the Blues & Soul magazine annual poll. Jackson also performed much of the material on her sold-out UK dates in early 1978. Ace are delighted to reissue “Feelin’ Bitchy’ on vinyl and Millie Jackson spoke to Ian Shirley about the recording of the album. This interview runs on an inner sleeve along with classic photographs of Jackson from this period. Side 1 01 All The Way Lover 02 Lovin' Your Good Thing Away 03 Angel In Your Arms Side 2 01 A Little Taste Of Outside Love 02 You Created A Monster 03 Cheatin' Is 04 If You're Not Back In Love By Monday 05 Feelin' Like A Woman More info and purchase options via https://acerecords.co.uk/feelin-bitchy-2

Event Date: 5 Jul 2024 What do Frankie Knuckles, the Fantastic Johnny C and Taggy Matcher (I kid you not) have in common? Event Date: 28 Jun 2024 Im back down to reality after this weekender, and well what can I say about this event. There was a party of us who encamped in the main ballroom all weekend. That was for all sessions. Some of our party have been in the NS scene for some time and there comments flying about I havent heard this record for a long time. Other comments were, whats this, its new to me. The point Im making is that the music was varied for all tastes and the DJs mixed it... Tap to view the full event review

Also to Paul and Don on sorting out the great sound systems.
