  1. I had a yellow stella starr demo, yes it does exist
  2. Got a demo somewhere, would need to search what price were you thinking before I look ? sheep
  3. Believe me there is such a thing as overplayed and this falls into to it nicely !, the reissue is not a rare record and as I pointed out not a rare sound here in the UK, it got issued by motown in the UK some years back and it gets played in supermarkets etc. I for one have zero interest in a reissue legal or otherwise, but hey, good luck hope it sells well.
  4. Bootleg maybe, legal reissue perfectly ok with the Northern fraternity. If theres a market in the US for a reissue of this then all well and good, not so sure its going to do much here in the UK though, could be wrong
  5. Unlikely to be even known in clubs in the USA, with some minor boutique exceptions of which there are only a handful. But ye, that's a possibility !!!
  6. Am I missing something here, its a rare record for sure, but no way is it a rare sound, it has been re -released by motown , was bootleg and on CDs etc So whos going to buy yet another reissue of an overplayed record ?
  7. Don't think at £20 its an original, if that matters to you, not sure !
  8. Agreed, nostalgia scene for people who never there in the first place. I just say these days I like 60s black soul music, don't say northern anymore. The ones who I come across who dress up and say they are proper norther fans, I tend avoid, especially when there understanding of the music is limited to f wilson and h Melvin. But the fun bit is listening to them talking about the origin of the scene and getting mostly wrong
  9. Yes, was looking at it from the nothem stool perspective. The scene is a lot more soulful these days and you get hear sounds that would never have reach the deck back in the 70s, but at which point does it no longer come under the heading of n sole, we can each draw our line of this one.
  10. Too slow then too slow now! nice soul record nevertheless.
  11. Lived in Cairo for 3 years. Did hear of a radio station which had a record library, otherwise very rarely saw a 45 in shops or markets.
