I have been buying again this year and added my collection onto discogs to catalogue it , plus I have a word doc with a list that I keep updated too, also printed out from a pdf file I have used ebay , discogs , soul nights and friends etc to acquire records , and some people on here have posted stuff and collections in the FOR SALE section I would say its either put the effort in and sell at "reasonable" prices like some sellers and traders on here do, or sell in one go to one dealer for an agreed sum , I dont think there is a "middle ground" because you will be left with unsold records even if you try to get rid of them all individually, or as PETE S says , left with the dross to get rid of I think that many people expect to sell for the highest prices possible, whereas those who ask a reasonable price tend to find they sell more and more quickly too. Its a balancing act between getting a reasonable return and not letting them go too cheaply , plus condition and originality etc is everything (as can be seen in the thread about DARKEST DAYS by Jackie Lee on ABC) when I posted my wants list on here I was getting pm,s with silly prices that I definitely will not pay, so I put restrictions on the prices and also have said NO many times when I consider the price to be too high (and there are usually postage and packing costs on top too). I have still managed to acquire the records I want at reasonable prices and not been disappointed with any purchase from here I agree that some of the prices on discogs (and ebay too) are ridiculous so having reasonable expectations should aid you in selling up in full Most people wont be able to just call round , so postage and packing and organisation will be factors in selling individually or in packs as records are extremely heavy then selling over 1000 discs and posting them is not a good idea either I acquired a dj collection , took what I wanted out of it and then put it on gumtree, some people came round and cherry picked the reggae and oasis etc , the rest went in one go after a few false starts and timewasters (mainly eighties and nineties stuff in picture sleeves) but I am in Manchester which has a high interest and millions of people concentrated in the north west , so nothing like cornwall so the choices are yours but at least you have some idea from all sides of the topic , buyers , sellers and traders etc

I know plenty of people that dont like the bottle, including myself , never have , would never buy it , not for a single penny same goes for sid the hissing serpent too with so much quality stuff out there , some of these "poor" records dont deserve to be played any more I do agree its all down to personal taste , but when you look at stuff like YOUR SONG - the Dells , Living - Jay and the Americans , Jesse James etc , its no contest

if it was paid for using paypal then paypal protection means it has to be sent back by trackable method , hence second class signed for the laws of the land ( CRA 2015 ) overrule any caveat by a seller and the seller also agrees to ebay and paypal rules (if paypal was accepted for payment) so the seller should refund the return postage , and in theory they should send a postage paid label that the buyer sticks onto the parcel and then gets a free certificate of posting from the P O Counterstaff I have done the above a few times and always been reimbursed if I have had to pay the return postage (did one last week where the record was cracked and not in the listing, ebay/paypal said the seller should send me a returns label (postage paid) within 10 days , but the seller couldnt manage it so asked me to post it back and they would reimburse me in full , for the original transaction including postage , plus return postage , which they did) so why send it back by trackable method ? because ebay/paypal insist on it and will ask for the tracker number in any dispute I agree it sounds uneconomical, but then the seller could just write it off and say keep the record or bin it (which has also happened to me , twice , with faulty records) for a £5 record, you would have thought they would just do a full refund anyway and be done with it , trusting that the buyer was correct

no pm received , sorry Stevie I do appreciate that some may have higher values but I wont be paying £150 even if its for a £500 record lol its just a list at the end of the day , we all have our own ideas on what something is worth , if its too much , I wont buy it !! so I have set a limit (meaning if people want more for a record, dont bother asking me because the answer is NO, SORRY) as for that rick sheppard, it should have been amended to show "boot" due to the costs of an "original"
