  2. Not a very interesting story, I'm afraid.... we licensed it from the owner. and I'll take this opportunity to say thanks to everybody who has purchased a copy.
  3. Delroy Egg Mason often used cut-down piano strings on his guitar. perhaps this practice had wider use than just Delroy Egg Mason.
  4. for those of you who like the sublime Craig Douglas beat ballad or the rare Shirley Bates tune, take them both on one seven inch for six English pounds https://www.spokerecords.co.uk/

  9. I still have a lot of love for their 'Make Your Move' 45 on M-S Last 5 purchases for me: Roger James Cooke - Not That It Matters Anymore End - You Better Believe Me Baby DumDum - Cosa Nostra Henry Fowler - Grits After Shifts Traditions - My Life With You
  10. apologies, deleted yeah, Detroit Wheels, garage-soul innit!
  11. ah, the Sue one I have is a proper Sue release for Seeburg jukes - will dig it out at the weekend anyway... the Seeburg own line is kinda like the US version of Woolies' Embassy

  14. these are the ones that play at 33rpm and often have 3 (if not 2) tracks on each side? have a lovely Sue Records one somewhere sorry, not much help
  15. are you me? that is pretty much where I am. the moddier rallies are the only part of that scene that show solid musical worth.
  16. the current day scooter scene is very much like how I remember my first adventures into the northern soul scene (circa'87, via the mod/scooter scene): full of old people.
  17. get ahead of the 2011 craze - everybody will be strutting around with totes - Gok said, so it must be true if not a tote, go for a slimline ladybox* not Gok approved there was a guy on the funk45 forum who custom-made boxes at very good rates - can't remember his name but still have the pics he sent me. he'd make whatever you wanted - the pics below feature velvet lining and a seperate compartment for carts. 'phones etc.
  18. some info & scans here: Island 45s regards, Col

  21. I have grabbed most of them on French white labels from a couple of yrs ago His 'Beggin' has been doing the rounds in different formats for approx 3 yrs now If you want to track down his other stuff, probably best looking on the likes of piccadilly/phonica/fatcity etc
  22. Pilooski's quite an interesting bloke - he's also remixed stuff by Dee Edwards, Edwin Starr, World Column, Human Beinz, People etc obviously a fan of the 'classics' Still amazed he didn't opt to re-work the Timebox version for a crisper sound and beefier drums - way less muddier than the OG and therefore more suitable for today's clubs
  23. word pokemon - gotta collect em all! I have a fair few but I keep em in a biscuit tin ('family favourites' in case you're wondering...) my favourite one is 'lowestoft soul' it does exactly what it says on the ('family favourites') tin
