  1. Great record. I'd say £30 is a more realistic price. If you didn't already know, 'Cheer Me Up' was one of the running theme tracks to the 70s 'Globetrotters' kids TV show and you can pick up their original version for buttons (UK RCA, US Kirshner). Not as good as Mohawks cover imo.
  2. yep, this is great and I think the budget MFP album was the only way to get this track until a recent 7" boot..?
  3. yep, £6 plus P&P will get you a lovely officially licensed 7" of Steve Flanagan's 1967 version of 'I've Arrived' backed with Sylvan's 1965 femme pop-soul death disc 'We Don't Belong' infamously banned by the BBC at the time. https://www.spokerecords.co.uk/ also have a couple of boxes of 'Don't Mind If I Cry' if deep soul beat ballads are your thing too....
  4. a mate sent me the link to this blog last week. I've been hooked ever since. UK 45s rule.
  5. which is the best side anyway!
  6. I want that shirt on the right
  7. this is great! as long as loads of old farts don't turn up and spoil it!
  8. who was this again...?
  9. DC Fontana can turn it on when needs be
  10. the UK President issue is a decent option - cheaper, nicely cut and the vinyl is close to bomb-proof
  11. well, yes, it is a chance to get something at the maximum price you bid for but that price would be a lot lower if the shill bidder hadn't put in a bid
  12. good stuff oddly enough, one of the youtube clips has a guy using Titebond II Wood Glue and gets good results. This is one of the makes of wood glue I tried and it totally ruined a test 12" and 7". maybe the ingredients differs between UK and US but I would recommend people keep away from this make. Unless you're doing some woodwork, obviously.
  13. maybe he was of Germanic descendancy
  14. shillers love second-chancing it in a real life auction, if a winning bidder fails to pay, you get offered the #lot at the price at which your final bid was before you went head-to-head with the timewaster i.e. an item is at £10, you bid £12, waster bids £14 and it keeps going up to, say £20 with waster as winning bidder. Waster pulls out. Item is offered to you at £12.
  15. some of the wood glue products will trash records - too sticky and will end up ruining the record - I know from experience the PVA glue you can get from hobby shops is the best I've used pretty sure I used to eat this stuff by the gallon when I was about 6
  16. so, do you fancy a scanning session???? non-UK images are welcome too!
  17. the Justin 45s have gone now thanks for all the interest Col
  18. I have 3 copies of this @ £50 each - styrenes - NM - paypal prefered and still have some of these @ £6 each - new/unplayed - such a majestic beat ballad, what?
  19. Here's a couple I played earlier... This is a UK cover of the once popular Dry Well/Ellen & Shandells track... overlooked Patsy Ann Noble Bside...
  20. some lovely stuff in there wiggyflat. with the current interest in basic raw R&B, I can see a little revival of real brit freakbeat rather than the wackier stuff from a couple of years later.
  21. Stateside India (at least they spelt his name correctly unlike the UK Pye issue)
  22. Thanks for the offer - will definitely need your help I reckon! Will PM you if we still have any omissions in a couple of months Regards, Col
  23. That's brilliant, Mike. Many Thanks! When they are uploaded I will credit you. Regards, Col
  24. very nice I'm a huge fan of UK President and all of its many subsidiaries we've made good progress on 45cat uploading images for a lot of the catalogue HERE regards, Col
  25. I gave this a go on some spares and it worked well but am still too scared to try it on a valuable record
