Remarkable but true - Huns Review was in the Frost brothers duds box back in 1972 - got it from Pete Jenny before he took over A.T Browns 2nd hand record shop in Leicester about the same time as we got George Blackwell as an unknown. Played it a few times at the Fantasia but it never took off - I suppose back then it was competing against a weekly flood of sounds. Did the Four Tops have an added date to their tour in 1972 and appear at the Birmingham Odeon - I was still at school or had just left and I drove there with my brother Chris and a couple of mates to see them - arrived late for the full show - full Motown orchestra and I think Thelma Houston but somewhere in my mind was Mable John. Could of imagined that - but what is not in doubt is that seated in the balcony as the Tops arrived on stage - two from each side, swaying from left to right until meeting in the middle all going the same way - to ' I can't help myself ' - absolutely awesome / at the top of their game. Finished up in a city centre night club drinking the worst pint of M&B Brew XI in history - remember that more than the Tops playlist. Anybody out there remember - the Odeon was packed / full house so someone was there. I cannot find any record of this venue / gig on this tour but it did happen. Also anybody remember the Blues & Soul promoted early 70's short tour by Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Tami Lynn & Philip Mitchell - A couple of London dates and one in Manchester - drove through the snow on my own from Leicester to catch this gig in Manchester - poorly attended probably less than 1/2 full, then had to drive home on my lonesome through a blizzard. Tired of being alone and too much funky chicken for my liking and no sign of Free for all but plenty of Running away from you.

All, Alleged pkt tracked all the way to Int. Processing Centre ( IPC ) - Langley from Spain - A pkt was scanned through the Spanish postal system from 3rd July - accepted for outward transit - arrived and scanned in Langley IPC Tues. 14 / 7 11.47 am - Then the problems start - No further scanning since 14th July 01.12 pm - states on its way to you - out of Langley - Internal checks with local staff whom I know gives that the pkt had not been processed beyond Langley and had an invalid post code - LE6 06F Part address = 90 Burton Coalville Leicestershire LE6 06F. Coalville is LE67 and I don't live there. Print out from local office shows that pkt has not moved beyond Langley IPC - It is impossible to talk to anyone at Langley although I know the transit container no. the pkt arrived in. In all this of course there is no confirmation what is in this pkt !! which is why I'm asking if anyone who appears to have bought some of the other big ticket items like the Admirations & Andantes from ytraxx who has a 100% rating on Discogs from 96 items. So basically looking for anyone else who actually thought or did buy items from that April listing on Discogs - I have watched the fact that Jackie Day - Naughty Boy and Melvin Moore remain unsold/still listed Thanks in anticipation

Reminds me of Martin Koppells list in Discoveries / Goldmine Wants back in the 90's - used it as a reference as he sectioned it by price he was prepared to pay for a m- copy - A to Z by value divisions $50 - $500. Need to go back up in the loft - think I've still got the copy. Currently got or had 108 of this list - many multi-copies over the 50 yrs since starting to collect rare soul. Nice to be reminded of so many - will need to review my wants and have a listen to the ones I don't know and there's a good few of them. We learn something new every day and in my opinion it's always been about expanding our/my knowledge of our vast musical genre. Should keep me busy since retiring last week. Happy hunting
