Funny that my missus was the same so it had to go to Steve Chadwick back in the mid-nineties - £1200 if my memory serves me well - only an alleged 4 copy sound back then - Pat Brady / Paul Rudzitis / Me and 1 other - shortly after Butch got another from a Discoveries / Goldmine auction maybe more but no internet / youtube etc back then so who knows. Won my copy in a sealed bid auction from a guy in Washington state - $811 - I had bid @ $670 and was talking to David Foreman in Texas and he asked whether I had seen the 45 up for auction - I said yes and that I had put a bid in. He asked how much so I told him and he said 'not enough' - I asked how he knew that and he told me he had been speaking to the guy selling as he was a friend that he'd met on the US circuit - 'you'll need more than $750' Went back in under my near neighbour Derek Allen with $811 and won it Very much a blokie sound though - keep all those big ticket items coming - I just love to see them - I've only got 3 wants - George Pepp / Springers / Earle's Regards Steve

yes, I agree - this guy has listed more than 3 over the last couple of yrs. - same provenance blurb - right from the second one I've wondered just how many does he have and at what rate will they be offered - lets be honest this sound in either guise has been in huge demand at whatever the market rate has been for at least the last 35yrs. - you could conclude that all these mint / nm copies must of come from original alleged chucked in the trunk 900 given the complexity of the provenance story unless there is something more sinister about these surfacing in qty in 2018 - onwards. Buyer beware as always - and let's not forget in any given week somewhere / somehow remarkable 45's keep surfacing - I know I've had some myself on a continuous basis since I re-started collecting in 2011. Even last week a mis-pressed Mr. Dunn - 'Something is wrong' on Lauradunn - only because a guy in USA pulled out of the deal because he wanted the ballad title that was not actually on the 45 - probably explains it's rarity.

That old chestnut is back - this time at Tamworth - Progressive club getting established with good mix of sounds and better than average attendances so other local promoters / DJ's see opportunity to ride on the back of a growing client base - when will they learn that the usual end result is both suffer when identical dates are planned and it's not as though the protaganist's don't know each other. Interesting to see how this one plays out.

Was thinking of selling my seldom played demo the other week. Then actually played it last week - confirmed it was just too good to part with for anything other than a proper price - back in the play box regardless was the decision after remembering how long it had taken to get one in the first place. Many sounds out there in a similar position - rare/underplayed/undervalued - there is obviously a correlation there

Lets be honest - there's some DJs out there that didn't have any sounds back in the day and still don't - thats why so many still play the same old play-list - it was always like that, regardless of venue.

100ish - 24 played per hr spot on average - never really pre-plan as thats a recipe for frantic re-thinking - 50yrs behind the decks gives you a sense of sequencing / tempo changes and by definition held in box in style / tempo order. Experience also let's you know what works and what doesn't. Also been known to just arrive at specific venues with just a 30 count box and gone from front to back - don't get too many requests as most know what's coming or just want to be surprised / enjoy
