  1. Hello all, I'm looking for a nice, easy to find one-disc (CD or LP, would prefer LP) compilation of classy '60s female midtempo numbers.. nothing too "academic" or exhaustive, I want it as a birthday gift for a buddy who's liked this sort of stuff in the past when I've played it for him, something that lends itself well to casual listening. Doesn't have to be super-rare stuff either (I'd put sound quality before that, as I've heard a few really shoddy-sounding comps over the years). Can you guys think of any off the top of your head that might fit the bill? I don't do comps much and I'd rather go with a safe bet than start guessing.. Thanks! D
  2. Looking for a clean (VG+ or better) copy of this if anyone's got one - please DM with price and condition. Thanks!
  3. .
  4. My copy will be worn out before the week is over. Can't stop playing it. FANTASTIC.
  5. Hello all, Looking for a clean copy of this (VG+ up), would prefer Vows but open to either. Please DM price and condition if you've got one. Thank you, D
  6. PM'd you about Companions, at least I think I have.
  7. Hello all, Looking for a clean (VG+ up) Symbol copy, if you've got one please PM with price and condition. [M- or very clean LOMA copy could also work if you can provide a soundclip - I'm tired of buying NM styrene records that turn out to play like shit.] Thank you D
  8. Hello all and Happy New Year. I'm looking for a clean copy of this if anyone's got one - please DM price & condition. Thank you! D
  9. Robert Taylor please, PM you in a bit.
  10. Trying again with this one... VG+ or above preferred, don't mind a few clicks & pops but no worn out copies please. Fine with either light blue or green label. Please drop me a message with condition and price if you've got one to sell - thank you very much. Damian
  11. Hello everybody, I have this to sell, would grade it an all-around VG+ (even though it was graded higher when I bought it, but I feel VG+ is a fairer grade for condition), used but not abused, some surface scuffs, no deep scratches, no skips, no cracks - please see photos. Hear the actual record for sale here: https://picosong.com/w285B/ https://picosong.com/w285T Would like £130 for this one. I am located in Spain, so Registered postage to UK/EU will be £9 / 10€. Payment via Paypal (F/F). Open to 1:1 or partial trades as well - drop me a PM with what you've got. Also happy to provide Ebay/Discogs ID's so you can check my feedback if needed. Thank you for reading - Damian
  12. Hi all, Looking for a clean copy of this, solid VG+ or above, preferably vinyl and not styrene. Please drop me a PM with condition and price if you're selling - photos/soundclip will be much appreciated as well. Cheers, D
  13. Ffs.. should have grabbed mine this morning like I was about to.
  14. Looking for this if anyone's got one - please PM price and condition. Cheers, Damian
  15. Nice one, thanks. I haven't read about the Ondioline in a while but I seem to recall it was oscillator-based, though? I don't think it would've been able to reproduce that sort of sound that early on. Most likely it would've sounded closer to a Theremin in timbre.
  16. Exactly, it's not only the sound of the instruments but the slightly unusual way in which some of them are played - Strawberry Fields is a good example, it sounds like flutes but the playing is totally "unflutelike". Some of the parts in the TL song strike me the same way. And yes, I've read about "chance encounters" with Mellotron's that ended up on record, too.
  17. Thank you so much - I deactivated mine a month ago.
  18. Isn't it? Happy to be proven wrong about the Mellotron.. it could just be a grungy recording (not that that ever happened on a '60s soul record..)
  19. Nice, thank you - didn't think about that. I'll see if I can find her.
  20. Hi all, Been curious about this for a while as I'm completely in love with the backing track to this song, and to me it sounds a lot like the sort of sounds a Mellotron would make - those woozy, grungy-sounding flutes for one thing. It is not impossible as the instrument predates the song by two years, but at the same time it just seems like an unusual choice for a record in this genre and time period. There is absolutely zero information online - does anyone know anything about this? Cheers! D
  21. D'oh! Thank you for letting me know. I copied the text from elsewhere and evidently that got lost in the shuffle! It's £70, I will add it to the post now.
  22. Hello all, I'm selling my playing copy of the Lovations' Heaven Told Me So/‎I Keep Singing on Part III. I would describe condition as VG+/VG- but please see below. The price is £70. "Heaven Told Me" is the better side of the two and I'm only grading it VG+ because of surface scuffs/light marks, sound is more like EX. "Keep Singing" looks and plays a bit rougher. I've included a close-up photo. There are surface marks and a couple of deeper ones but the record does not skip on my deck (Technics with a Shure cartridge at 2.5 grams). Soundwise this side is a bit crackly and hissy but the music still comes through OK. Both labels are clean with a hint of ring wear, as you can see. **SOUND CLIPS** "Heaven" (partial clip, plays same throughout): https://picosong.com/wyi8Y/ "Keep Singing" (full side): https://picosong.com/wyih4/ These have not been processed in any way. Please keep in mind that raw digital clips can be pretty ruthless and expose every last flaw of a record. I have played both sides out with no issue. Small print: - I post from Spain, and pack well. Registered postage to the UK is £9; other locations please ask. - Payment through Paypal as F&F (or add %). Might also be open to partial (either way) or full trades, feel free to ask. Please let me know via PM if you're interested or have any questions. Thank you! D
  23. Hi everybody, I'm selling this beautiful copy of Jaibi's "What Good Am I" b/w "You Got Me" on French KAPP (with picture sleeve, also in great shape save for a small corner crease. See photos.) I bought this unplayed and only played it a few times at home on a good rig so it still plays as new. Please check out the clips (done on a Technics deck with a mono-wired Shure cartridge at 2 grams). As an additional bonus you get a proper vinyl pressing instead of styrene (which I believe is what the US Kapp copies are). Labels are spotless as well. Looking for £135 + postage, I'm located in Spain so to the UK that would be £9 (registered). It will be well packed. Payment via Paypal as F&F. I might also be open to a 1:1 or partial (either way) trade, I have a list of stuff I'm looking for (mostly '60s vocal dancers these days) so feel free to ask. Full audio clips (the slightly "edgy" sound is just the way the record sounds - it's cut really loud): https://picosong.com/wPBXN https://picosong.com/wPBXH/ Please PM if interested - thanks! ** Now ON HOLD, thanks. ** Damian
  24. Hi all, Looking for these two in at least (good, clean) VG+ : - Volumes, Maintain Your Cool / I Got Love on Twirl - Majestees, Take Back All Those Things on Mutt. Don't care if it's the pressing with the typo or not, as long as it's not the Numero reissue. I would very much appreciate a sound clip for the Volumes as I've had bad luck with styrene lately. Please PM with asking price if you've got either - thank you very much for reading. D
