  1. Always nice to read about really good people for a change!
  2. No that woul be the easy way! And I can understand it being a perfect club or dance record but far from soul. And back to the original question: My guess is $112
  3. I'm totally with you here! If I heard this out in a club I would probably dance to it but that doesn't mean that it's good record. For me one thing about northern soul is that when the records were made they were made by (mostly) black people trying to make a contemporay modern sound. I think most of today's pop or rock bands could do really good imitations of that sound but that's not a very exciting thought. The point of soul music is that it can be put into a bigger context and tell me something about the times and people that were involved. This song doesn't do that to me. When I listen to new music I want it to sound new too!
  4. One of my all time favourites! I think the price was pretty ok considering it's styrene and the ones you find for sale are often far from mint.
  5. Try the other side of The Exportations - I Want You on Virro. It's called Try Another Day and is one of my all time favourite songs! Maybe not for the dance floor but what a tune!
  6. Edward Hamilton recorded a couple of different versions of some of his songs. Can't remember which right now as I'm not at home to check.
  7. Yes it's a great track! It's on a 7" but I think it's quite hard compared to the LP.
  8. Read on his Myspace that he also was a nightclub manager in the Swedish cities Lund, Malm¶ and Gothenburg!
  9. I totally agree on Party Time Man. A fantastic & uplifting song! Can't understand why it's so hated among certain soulies.
  10. Never understood the point of making new music that sounds old. The music I love always try to sound contemporary and new, at least when it was recorded.
  11. Alteen is an underrated Chicago label. Lots of great stuff!
  12. One of my all time favourites! Impossible to sing or whistle on a sunday walk but absolutely fantastic! A mint copy went for $1000 about 5 years ago on Ebay when I started collecting but I didn't have that kind of money unfortunately. Good luck to you!
  13. It depends very much on the shoes you wear and the floor. If the floor isn't clogged with years of beer and you have shoes with a leather sole you don't need it. Otherwise you do!
  14. GSCD1 GSCD2 GSCD3 & GSCD9 My three (ok four) favourites!
  15. Tack f¶r en till! So you've come to C in your collection now? That's nice because then we know there will be more!
  16. Tack! Having dinner whith lit candles & wine just for myself tonight and this is the perfect soundtrack!
  17. The B-side to this is also fantastic! My favourite side actually!
  18. Got my vinyl copy off Pete Smith. I think it's on styrene too.
  19. Just took the time on this one. Vocal comes in at 2:45!
  20. Little Nicky Soul - I Wanted To Tell You Fantastic song and I always dance to it but I probably look like an idiot.
  21. Got my vg++ demo copy off ebay last year for $199 (buy it now). Absolutely fantastic and I can't decide which side is the best!
  22. Sorry, posted twice.
  23. The other side "Go Now" is also a fantastic deep tune! But it's not on the demo. Sampled by Jaheim (Hoagy Lands grandson I think).
  24. Yes, a very strange version. Have'nt seen the portugise one before. Got the demo but I know the issue is quite hard.
  25. I know what you mean! I did not mean to criticise anyones taste. I'm sure I would have loved it if it just had the right timing. Got lots of other "strange" songs I love!
