  1. Great work old chap....love those dovetails with the score lines left in...too good to use out though !!!!
  2. This little gem is the Antiquities bar, it's down a side alley in Albufeira old town in Portugal.
  3. Here is a 50m wall of poppies encroaching onto the building site, this photo doesn't do justice, the colour is so deep
  4. A pair of Magpies making a nest halfway up a crane on site,
  5. Congratulations Ste & Lou , he is a little cracker , even though he made you wait that extra week
  6. Alright Gaz , hope you are well , sorry mate don't work on the bridge , i'm on Stobarts building a new power station , roadworks are a pain for us on the other side as well but not as bad as sunny Runcorn
  7. Sorry no wildlife ,beautiful flora or majestic cathedrals....... Here is yours truly , through the hole in the wall behind me you can see beyond the railway viaduct the columns on the new Mersey bridge. These photographs were taken by one of the lads who works with me ,he used to work on the bridge. This is the river bed inside the cofferdam ,the main columns will start here. The scaffold staircase is suspended from the top so that it doesn't impede works at base level. . A web of reinforced steel bars prior to the first concrete pour..... First concrete pour done ,the scaffold is erected to put up the shuttering for the next pour. Temporary bridge to get the workforce to the cofferdam/columns...... Amphibious lifeboat , just in case..... The concrete mould that we seen on previous post by Ste ( winsford soul ) making the road span. The concrete piers leading out to the columns in the river are already in place waiting for the span to be placed on top....lots of concrete haha .
  8. Sorry Ste don't have any from the top and I don't work there now, also referring back to your 2nd photo, the red part on the right side of the new bridge is also a shutter ( a type of mould for the concrete ) it drops and moves along to be raised in to place for another pour, all worked by pneumatics, great engineering.
  9. Venus i'm glad you did, right up my street
  10. Nice photos Ste, I can see this being built from where I work, the yellow structures on top of the main columns are creeping shutters, once the concrete inside has set the shutter creeps up to be filled with fresh concrete and repeat. Here is a closer view of Fiddlers Ferry power station, for those of you that are scared of heights take a look at the ladder on the rear right cooling tower, the vans at the bottom give you scale
  11. Venus...Pure brilliance !!!...Jerry Butler is one of my favourite singers...young Billy didn't do too bad either...real talent from both of them.
  12. Ive got a year older poor mans Zetec S , a young neighbour of mine has an RS and he said he loves it when he pulls up next to an ST driver and sees the look on their faces, priceless........ I would love to have a blast in the RS !!!!
  13. I can hear what you mean Mal , musically they are very similar , Three Days Ahead is a more modern version of the Paul Burton track , to my ears anyway
  14. For me its Grumpys, Burscough & Redemption @ Prestatyn in no particular order because of the music policy, sorry for breaking the 'one event' rule.
  15. Seen this van in Warrington.
  16. Remember in the old days when you had that one friend who owned a car ? My friend Stu Conlon ( now in oz ) had a lovely red Escort Mexico , but it was too good for us to sit in haha !!! Nice Cortina Lotus !
