  7. Me, Lorraine and friends have been making the most of our weekends since the lockdown was lifted. Been to numerous small events between Widnes and Wigan, one allnighter and two weekenders. We have also two weekenders booked in the coming months. As far as I can see everyone is glad to be out, it's been good catching up with friends and acquaintances. Hugh / Jeffers, we must of crossed paths in the past, good times at Bury, Lowton and Prestwich, for years they were our regular monthly venues. Ste
  8. Ventured out to Culcheth dayer charity event in aid of Blesma. Me & Lorraine really enjoyed it, arrived late at six and stayed until it ended at eleven. Great variety of music, not the same old same old. Met up with friends and acquaintances, plus the rare pleasure of seeing fellow soulsourcer Martyn Pitt. All proceeds went to a worthy cause. Ste

  11. BVAN!!! Saturday night's will not be the same again, me and Lorraine looked forward to this event every week with friends old and new, the music, the banter, getting to do our own little request spots and lots of new to us tunes, it's been brilliant!!! Thanks to Simon and the team for putting it together and to all the regulars in the RadioKing chat room, can't wait to see you all out and about. Ste

  17. Tommy , the "house on the hill" is mentioned in Larry Williams - I am the one, as Robb said "a metaphor for where the rich live". Ste.
  18. Louise, I have had a couple of these starter nests in my shed, there may be only one wasp in it, if any. The wasps make the nest out of wood pulp which they chew and spit out to create a miniature feat of engineering. My technique to get rid of them was...open the door slightly, knock the nest off with a yard brush, drop brush and close the door, there may be one or two pissed off wasps but they soon calm down. Ste.
  19. There is a Lowrider type song by Nelson Sanders called I'm lonely, starts with similar lyrics. Ste.
  20. Mike, thanks for posting this, as you said "awesome". Ste.
  21. Very sad to hear this. As Les said "Sue will be sadly missed". If she wasn't on the dancefloor she was mingling taking photos, and she was always 'there'. At nearly every event Sue seemed to be there. Condolences to friends and family. RIP Skippy Sue. Ste.
  22. Mystery solved, Mr -Winsford soul- Smith will be pleased to hear ( or should I say smug?) that he was correct in saying that it was a wren . Ste.
