  1. Two Sassy's , 1002 and 1002-2 , different flipsides .
  2. Speak for yourself , never went to Wigan when I was starting out on 'the scene' as I was advised by all and sundry that it was a toilet and on the downward spiral in '80/81 ... so the likes of Leicester - Stafford - Norwich - Blackburn - 100 Club were my stomping grounds ... none of which were for looking backwards ...
  3. Someone may well buy it to play it if the price is low enough , but a crack half way across the disc like that one renders the record as Fair as far as a collector is concerned regardless of whether it "plays fine" , and the price should reflect that.
  4. All three clips the same ...
  5. Her version of "I love the ground you walk on" is a great ballad , but the tune in question is just dire.
  6. Too many great nights at the 'Embankment' to let a little slip of judgement like this to get in the way Len ... I grew to love Gene Vito but this is one giant leap too far ...
  7. And I used to have such respect for you sir ...
  8. Should just start playing automatically on the page linked to (works fine here still) , if not then I can't really help ... the actual sales post ain't hard to find though ...
  9. Link to the soundfile in my last post ... don't come back on here with bleeding ears and say you weren't warned though ...
  10. That's because they've not yet been to the 2nd lesson , or their 'tutor' packed in after one YT video so they're in a kind of limbo ...
  11. I'm referring to this monstrosity being lauded as a "Rare soul" record ... which it never was , is not now , nor ever will be ... https://vocaroo.com/i/s12MuwQwIrmp
  12. Seems to be more and more records listed these days with that old 'rare soul 45' title that are so lacking in any soulful content that they are frankly in breach of the 'trades descriptions act' ... Yes we all tire of the same old , same old and are always wanting to hear something fresh and a little different , but when it comes in the form of some dreadful white 50's housewife doing a Doris Day impression then what in god's name do sellers hope to gain by describing something as a "Rare Soul 45" ... ??? Please for the love of doG stop trying to pass this sh*te off as soul music , it ain't soulful and never will be , even as an April's Fool gag this latest one would fall flat on it's face ... Mini-rant over , time for a coffee methinks ...
  13. Also on the flip of TCHULA 808.
  14. And a great up to date version ...
  15. "Proper dancing" is between you and the music and nothing else , if you're busy concerning yourself with what everyone else is doing then you've not been transported into that magical impenetrable bubble that the tune creates for you ...
  16. And sadly another great musician leaves us ... https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/nov/16/mose-allison-dies-aged-89-jazz-blues-musician
  17. Just beware of the "wigs 'n' wheelchairs" record stall ...
  18. Sorry Ady , I wish more folk would make use of the 'smiley' selection now and again when trying to be clever or tongue in cheek , saves the rest of us thinking they're just being arse'oles ...
  19. Firstly ... the name is Croasdell ... ! Secondly ... Ady told you it would be out on a legit Chess box set yet you jumped in and bought the bootleg anyway , how the f*ck does that equate to someone 'playing you' ... ???
  20. If you can wait until this time next year Mr Manship's .... " new "COLLECTING NORTHERN SOUL" book, which will provide exacting matrix markings and label scans for all counterfeits, re-issues of Northern Soul 45s and albums." will be available ...
  21. There's a red "Legend" repro too with the ZTSC matrix that used the same plates as the styrene Case of Tyme issue ...
  22. No , the "A" on the boot is black ...
  23. Good to see it nipped in the bud ...
  24. The Search function will throw up plenty of previous threads on the subject , all worth reading before letting yet another one get out of hand over nit-picking details ...
  25. Even the "cheapo" ain't so cheap these days , I'll be hanging on to mine for a while yet ...
