  1. Why ... ? ... it's just another "favourite tunes" thread with a slight twist "fave tunes I can't afford" ... another potential mp3 wannabe dj hunting for a setlist maybe ...
  2. A very quick search threw up this one so I'm sure you can find others ....
  3. So is it #2 or #3 that you're after ... ?
  4. Minsh drove me mad with it , miserable grumpy git never did let me have his carver despite repeated promises ... Sounds kinda "Meh" when heard on YT these days but by crikey it was a different beasty altogether full blast at 3 am .... Keele was my earliest 'recollection' but CD was '91
  5. Was plenty legit enough for me to go mental to when it was played out first off a CD ... ( B Rae at Keele before K Minshull started hammering it off a carver ... ? )
  6. Japanese CD original release , just to piss the OVO boys off ...
  7. Carla Whitney ... ?
  8. £262 for 30 records , less than £9 each for a full set of historical memorabilia sounds a good deal to me , especially considering the quality of the pressing.
  9. Today's winner has to be $5600 for a VG "Professionals" on Groove City ... !
  10. With dog first press I believe.
  11. Demo copies are Stereo/Mono.
  12. For a real quality event near you look no further than the True Soul Weekender in September ... https://www.truesoul.co.uk/event/true-soul-weekender-september-2018/
  13. Only ever be worth that if someone rounds up the other twenty thousand copies out there and recycles about 19,900 of them ...
  14. V.O.E.H - Cashing In - £280 + p+p ..... ! Never has a more appropriately titled 45 been listed ...
  15. Too many Mickey Mouse soul nights about at the moment , but enough quality all-niters about to satisfy . Back in the 90's the Manifesto Events guide ran to two pages , listing every soul night and niter covering two months ... and included a map showing locations , the core of the scene were at pretty much every nighter on the guide and a lot of the evening dos too . Today's offerings amount to 20+ soul nights every Friday and Saturday , problem is most are catering for the "DJ" and his mates that never venture out of their own area , most churning out the same old thing week in and week out , and almost none who actually stay up beyond midnight thanks to the copious amounts of beer swilled . Thankfully there are still enough classy nighters out there to cater for the core so in that sense the 'real scene' is just as 'exclusive as it was twenty years ago , there are just hundreds of tiny events that probably attract about 15 punters and these are easy enough to weed out from the good'uns.
  16. Just throw a link to the "Top 500" , will save everyone posting it up again one track at a time ... As for naming those other few obscurities that folk want to hear , is this not another of those 'fishing' threads aimed at getting a setlist gifted to you ...
  17. Twaddle ... none were 'covered-up' to deny artists financial rewards ...
  18. Beat me to it , 11:33 in on this mix too ... https://dublab.com/the-southern-soul-spinners-soul-kaleidoscope-05-12-14/
  19. And ... ? ... somewhat off-topic , both well known on the scene but hardly 'celebrities' ... sorry Tim ...
  20. Nah , he said "I've never even been to a Wigan all-niter , but I've been to a couple of all-niters ..... "
  21. Same decimal point malfunction on his Danny White/Betty Bibbs , simple typos as everything else in his shop's arond the £8.75 mark.
  22. You're just not trying hard enough Karl ...
