    Fed up with all those boring greyscale images so I left the colour alone last night. Didn't bother aiming for high detail as it was low in the sky veiled with thin cloud and the seeing was awful. And caught my first 'interloper' in about eight years ... Some 450,000 DSLR frames captured on Solar and Lunar imaging in that period but rare to catch one despite being so close to a Stansted stack and RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall.

    Bit presumptuous of you calling it "our music" methinks , it's 2022 not 1972 , anyone would think that it's some kind of exclusive secret society that you belong to rather than someone living on a planet flooded with information via the internet and it's associated technology .... It's a bit like the advert I saw on here recently announcing the 'Official 49th Birthday of WC' soul nite , bloody place was only open for eight years and closed down 41 years ago , stop living so firmly entrenched in the past and get out a bit more , there's one little club I know quite well that started before the "Holy Toilet" finished and is still going strong , get out a bit more and realise the world didn't end suddenly in 1981.

    A rare excursion out in the dark for me these days , but I needed to get away from the bloody football and the Eurovision fiasco ... A quick test of the 'new' Canon 450D that I picked up for £40.00 last week (clean as a whistle and only 3000 on the clock , but it's diopter's bust ... but that's not needed when it's shoved up the back of a 'scope and tethered ... ) Was getting ready for the eclipse shoot I had planned but that's likely to be thwarted by the weather now ... Shot 240 frames , stacked 120 of them. The orientation's a bit off as I had to rotate the camera rather than adjust the variable Barlow. Click on image for a closer view .

    I've just opened another YouTube channel under the "Woodbutcher" banner ( to keep things in line with my Mixcloud page) I'm presently uploading all the lockdown on-liner videos I saved from Facebook from the "6Ts Rhythm and Soul Society" and "The 45's" groups along with Mark Bicknell's first Sunday Soul Sessions.     Can't actually remember how long it is since I tried a bit of solar imaging , trying to piece together the rig from umpteen boxes following a house move proved interesting but nowhere near as interesting as trying to remember my processing 'recipe' ... Anyway , enough waffling , here's the efforts for what they're worth , standard 'whitelight along with an inverted view and a 'coloured in' offering just for the hell of it ...
