  1. Last one on e-bay was £800 ...
  2. So in that case he must get his commision solely from the vendor , that's very good of him from the buyers point of view ... I'll give him a ring in the morning just make sure and report back for future reference to others. Thanks for the reply ...
  3. Does anyone know what's added to the final winning bid these days ? I've scoured his site from top to tail with no hint of a commision percentage anywhere. I can't believe that your winning bid is the price you pay plus postage. I've e-mailed John the question but have had no response as yet. Trying to judge your upper limit bidding-wise is a pain when you don't know how much extra you're going to get stung for after the auction's done. A search on here throws up a figure of 20% being bandied about but that was years back.

  5. Like that , apparently from 1969. It's on this Dbl LP ... https://www.discogs.com/release/4751401-Various-Eccentric-Soul-The-Forte-Label/image/SW1hZ2U6NDI0MjYzMTk= A few 'details' on the label might throw further light on it ... ?
  6. Whassamatta , recycle bin full ... ?
  7. Wakey , wakey , those details were posted up here on Wednesday ...
  8. Rule #1 ... remember to switch off AF on the lens ... Glad to have caught it though , however badly , the sky was so full that the 10mm lens was nowhere near wide enough ... ! My Movie 3 0.7x.mp4
  9. Words fail me , an astronomical event occurs as forecast , under clear skies , and what a show it was too ... I've caught hints of the aurora in the northern horizon once or twice , but to see it stretching beyond the zenith and to the south of me , naked eye here in Suffolk ..... ! Apologies to those who missed out , you're going to be fed up to the back teeth of seeing it plastered over every platform imagiable for the next few days ... Had a few issues photo-wise here , I'm out of practice messing about in the middle of a field in the dark with the camera not tethered to a laptop. In such a rush to get shooting with the display reaching right across the sky from West to East that I clonked the focus ring when panning about , caught the lights though which is what mattered to me ... Just ploughing through a couple of hundred CR3. files that the EOS 90D chucked out as I forgot to shoot in combo mode , but the inbuilt intervalometer was a godsend. Will post up an animation/movie of all the better shots when the processing's done , in the meantime the Sun's about to appear so time to get shooting again before the monster spot disappears .
  10. In case anyone's interested the flaring from the enormous sunspot I've been imaging has thrown a lot of stuff in our direction , and the storm arrived a short while ago and looks great for views of the aurora pretty much UK wide , weather permitting of course. Here's hoping you have clear skies.
  11. Now the waistband of the baggies is generally bigger than the bottoms combined , not a good look ...
  12. It mattered a lot less what you were wearing or how you danced back in the day. In a proper dark venue nobody could see you anyway , it's only in today's 'look at me' world , where every other punter is more worried about selfies and videoing every moment on their bloody phone that it seems to matter.
  13. Crawled out of bed to catch the early blue ... cool.gif Even got to play up close for a change.
  14. Listed on Discogs as a Canadian pressing , not a Canadian production ...
  15. Finally caught a break and a chance to see the enormous active region that's on show right now on the Sun. It's actually bigger now than the famous 1859 "Carrington Event" sunspot , and still growing ...
  16. https://www.discogs.com/label/3639266-Trans-Canada-Products?page=1
  17. Details in the Refosoul link I posted earlier ...
  18. For what it's worth ...
  19. Same source as the recent Arthur Prysock 45 , looks a decidedly iffy set-up to me but I'm sure someone knows different as they're both still available on D'cogs.
  20. I can only barely imagine the chaos that would ensue if a bunch of three parts p*ssed , overweight , 60+ punters started that kind of malarkey round the Tower Ballroom , pint in one hand and selfie-stick in t'other ...
  21. It's exactly the point , 'line dancing' in a 'disco' to a white disco record alongside all the other sheep is perfectly acceptable I think ... but it's exactly the kind of thing 'we' avoided like the plague in favour of obscure soul tunes , in dark dingy halls , full of characters you'd cross the street to avoid on a mid-week morning.
  22. The Bee Gees were black american ... you live and learn ...
  23. I blame a complete lack of imagination/individuality and cheap beer ...
