I was referring to the part of your comment about the 'value' of the 45s. I don't think anyone's suggesting that these are counterfeits pressed after the initial run , a quick look at the photos tells me that they're the real thing , but a proper close-up examination would reveal run-out discrepancies etc. No-one's ever made a counterfeit that can't be spotted by some means or other . The question is whether more titles were over-pressed than originally thought , but if not then where did these multiple 'brand new' copies suddenly spring from and end up in the hands of one particular seller on the bay. Perhaps you'd be so kind , in your capacity as the self-proclaimed expert and connections the label , to undertake said investigation on behalf of the rest of us mere mortals.

What a ridiculous statement , there are plenty of bootleggers out there making a living selling £15 pressings so knocking them out for over a ton a piece is a very lucrative enterprise indeed.

I do apologise ... Seems a little strange that they'd go to the effort of test pressings if no release appeared though , that said the album does look very much like a private/vanity job judging by the 'artwork' so maybe they thought about releasing a single then thought better of it and never pulled the trigger on a full pressing run.

The last five copies of "Good News" on Popsike all sold between 7th June 2024 and 24th August 2024 ... all from the same seller as all have the identical description wording as the latest ones on the bay , 3 x £155 and then 2 x £170.

Nicely tracked down. That 7" is no 'test pressing' though , it's without doubt a carver that someone's had cut to play out as a c/u , for some inexplicable barrel-scraping reason.

And the discs on fleabay are the 22nd , 23rd and 31st anniversary singles. So either the seller has bought a collection of the singles as a job lot and is now selling them on individually ( as any right-minded record dealer would do ) or the nefarious over-pressing has been going on longer than thought. As there are feedback comments relating to sales of multiple copies of certain singles then I tend to agree that he's a wrong'un.

Someone listing three anniversary singles for sale doesn't set off any alarms for me , there are numerous times that similar listings have been made on here I'm sure. What does have my spidey-sense tingling however are the decidely AI sounding near identical descriptions of all three 45s and even moreso the sellers feedback history that comprises only 100 Club Anniversary singles ... !
