  1. Some dear friends, some of which are no sadly no longer with us, in the Loughborough video I'm the long streak of piss 1st through the door in the video Here's some of my pictures from CESC nites...happy times
  2. It was a shrine disc, you’re correct..from Andy (Can’t remember his surname) who lived in Wotton under Edge, Glos.
  3. £15 They do come up on discogs, but seem to sell quickly. At least they did when I was looking for a copy.
  4. got there in the end, it's been a lot of searching...this arrived today
  5. Salsoul 7" VG+ or better Please PM me if you have one for sale.. Thx..
  6. I've owned my copy for +20 years. It does not have a serated edge
  7. Leicester Oddfellows - Lucky Charms, Tied to your Heart 100 Club - Chuck Jackson, Millionaire 100 Club - Bill Evans, On Broadway Just bought my 3rd copy of Bill Evans off Mick Smith recently, no idea what happened to the 1st, the 2nd copy was borrowed to Andy from Wotton on the Edge + 20 years ago - Lost touch since. I mentioned to Mick I'll not be buying another, and will look after this one! Warrington Parr Hall - Chuck Jackson, Hand it Over Warrington Parr Hall - Melba Moore, Magic Touch I know this was an Adey spin, however Pat Brady used to play this at Warrington. Brickey (RIP) mentioned to Pat that Magic Touch was a rumoured to be the next 100 club anniversary single. Pat told Brickey not to be so stupid. For me and this stupid story, Magic Touch, belongs to Warrington.
  8. Another from me - quite how this is so cheap is beyond me The Five Stairsteps - Playgirl's Love Discogs is awash with these <£10
  9. No problem Mike yes it's well built, good and solid - reassuringly weighty in a quality way, rather than light and flimsy if you know what I mean.. the hinges, locks and the corner protectors are good and solid only has a red felt lining, however I'm not looking to throw my discs around in the box so I don't see this as a problem Pricey, but you get what you pay for....recommended
  10. No, No don't worry....I won't take it personally that I mentioned this company in November (lol) I have the double row job - 'Sally' is the product name I'm well pleased with it thanks for asking
  11. I ordered something off him via cheque - must have been early Jan, maybe just back from a niter and wasn't with it. I dated the cheque with the previous years date. Got a stinking rude letter back from him, wasting his time etc.. Remember I showed Mark Bicknell the letter. RD's letter wound Mark up more than me. Think Mark was going to phone him up and tell him what he thought of him. Can't remember if Mark ever did or not. Don't remember ever ordering stuff from him any more after that - was easier dealing with Pat Brady and John Manship
  12. I think you deserve the well done Jim >£1000 for one I achieved <£100 for two
  13. Ha...bought my two from Black Grape - Didn't he say on the list he had a box of them? Edit - I thought it was £10 ea - but could be wrong
  14. oh where to start...(as I'm sure most of us have similar examples!!) For me Two Jimmy Bo Horne's - I Can't Speak...£20 for both passed one to a mate for what I paid The other went a few months later for £50
  15. Went to a scooter parts fair the other w/e - not expecting anyone to be selling records:- Four Tops - I just Can't Get You Out of My Mind, Probe Gene Chandler - Let Me Make Love to You, RCA Solomon Burke - Stupidity, London 1st two are pretty much mint in company sleeves, Solomon Burke is pretty beaten up, but as it's a LOUD record it's fairly un-noticeable through the speakers when played £4 total for the above three
  16. One technique that worked for me is carefully running the record backwards with the needle in the groove carefully turning the turntable by hand. I'm guessing it was a small piece of dirt in the groove which was flicked out by running the needle backwards over it
  17. Been a useful thread for me starting from scratch again Anyway one to add to the list The Parliaments - Don't be Sore at Me Just picked up a VG+ copy for £17 inc postage from discogs
  18. Just to throw another option into the mix - I was after something more 'traditional' looking, and didn't like the look of the aluminium flight cases. Regardless how much abuse/knocks they can take. After a lot of searching I found this company based in Spain who ship to the UK https://www.waxinwood.com/ More expensive than most other options especially when you factor in the postage - however exactly what I was looking for.
  19. Timely question based on what dropped through my letter box today Discogs purchase from the US $3 ($15 inc. postage) for Millie Jackson - My man, is a sweet man (OK I'm rebuilding from the start again) graded as mint really really dusty and a big inaudible scratch It's cleaned up now and plays without any surface noise - still a bit annoyed - but not worth following up with the seller for something less than £10 Remember a Bobbie Smith I had - visually 100% perfect, but hardly audible when played. Sold it for 25% of the value at the day, and was upfront with the buyer. He probably thought and may have fixed it. I couldn't.
  20. OK, I'll check with Rusty tonight, to see what he remembers
  21. I didn't go as it was before my time. However I remember my mates talking about 'stars and stripes club' when discussing Yate Could that be the name of the venue?
  22. Just googled and found this site - some aerial photo's here if that helps I've never visited station road, or the famous venue so beyond finding this site I can't help https://www.wiganworld.co.uk/album/showalbum.php?opt=5&offset=0&gallery=Station+Road%2C+Wigan EDIT - seems a few of us are doing the same (lol)
  23. From the album: nsaints
