Wanita is a night Jawa runs that is dedicated to music sung by womxn, on records played by womxn. SARINA: Hi I’m DJ Les Petits Feet, i’ve been DJing all over the UK for the past 7 years, I started collecting Motown rn’b Soul and Northern Soul records and playing them at a regular soul night in Camden called ‘The State We’re In’ 5 years ago I started Psych-A-Rella club in London with my partner Ben, focusing on 60s psychedelia, garage, freakbeat and fuzz. Spend a Winter Weekend on the Sussex Riviera! Two nights of Upbeat Entertainment. Fridays Soul Town is hosted by Upbeats Jimmy Kent and he already has a A list of guest Djs sorted . On the musical menu will be Northern Soul , RnB , 6Ts Soul & Mod Jazz. Saturday night will be for the Rocksteady , Ska & Boss Reggae brigade . We will have the Sir Harry Hi Fi Soundsystem in the venue providing the sound for what will be a big boss line up of selectors . Tim Smithers will be joining us for one hell of a soulful night. Tim started collecting records at the age of 15 & endured the 6hr coach trip to Wigan, as well as frequenting the very popular Yate all-nighter. He started djing in the 90s playing everything soulful, had the privilege of playing all over Europe including the Hamburg weekender, Deep cliffs weekender in Portugal, Dig this , Milan etc also have played at some of the UK’s top nights, Kings Hall, Winsor suite, Soulfunk-tion, Rugby All-nighters, Southampton soul club do’s, was a co promotor at the Bournemouth railway club , where anything and everything got played. Joining us on the Soul Nite will be the brilliant Ann Taylor. Ann, as many of you will know promotes/ organises the legendary Teddington Soul Nites which will celebrating its 8th Anniversary very soon. Also Ann promotes the Dome event in London as well as the excellent Soul Galore Weekender. Also joining us on soul night will be Jonathan Dabner. He is best known for being the founder of the legendary Jazz Cafe in Camden Town . He is also the promoter/ organiser of both Steppin’ Out in Hackney & The Shakeup in Clapham.
