'midnight Of My Life' Steve Marriott Film
Andybellwood replied to Andybellwood's topic in All About the SOUL
Likewise - longtime fan . Have the lasting memory and pleasure of finally spending a few hours with Steve in his Packet of Three days . Funny , mischievous, captivating , loveable and such honesty and integrity without even a touch of bitterness. He and the band turned up in a battered white van with a pub pa to be totally overawed by the large capacity adv sellout crowd . The local musicians rallied round , sourced a great pa with monitors. Steve played a blinder , back on a bigger stage in front of his adoring fans - a heady mix of Small Faces and Humble Pie classics . Misunderstood by many- yes , too much too soon -perhaps . One of the great white soul singers , immense talent and a brilliant performer - definitely . For those who haven't read it and looking for a Xmas pressie, I'd recommend Paolo Hewitt and John Hellier's book ' Steve Marriott All too beautiful'. -
Agree with additions - same here , plus Sam Dees.

Newcomers, invariably young , discovering for the first time what long timers often consider as overplayed classic oldies is surely only good for the longevity of the scene and healthy numbers at venues ...
