    Con Funk Shun 45 now completely sold out at Detour Records (our Distributor and on-line sales) . Just a few left elsewhere at our retail partners (Sean Chapman Records , Northern Soul Direct & Juno ) .

    Seasonal Greetings and all the best for 2023 from myself/Last Bastion Records. We are only a very small self funded label, which makes all your support so very special and appreciated. Our 1st Ltd edition 45 release (Lou Pride) sold out in 10 days as pre release order direct from our Distributors (Detour Records) who now have less than a handful left of our 2nd, LB02 (Steve Marriott ft. Ronnie Lane & P P Arnold) and 3rd, LB03 (Con Funk Shun). It’s been a great year - thank you so much. 2023 will see 2 or 3 different again releases, with details of LB04 being announced here on Soul - Source soon.

    Great little venue and always a nice variety of tunes played from the residents - Northern Oldies to Modern, soul classics, 7ts , 6ts RnB , new & recent releases etc

    Looks like being a good ‘un and popular with a great dj lineup , venue and hotel rooms already sold out (but alternatives available). Understand hotel has been revamped and looks great on photos , including ballroom plus easy to access just off A1.

    Fortunately we accessed the gallery direct from the street rather than the Metro /Central Station subways . Yes it does smack of a well oiled business in its organisation - same people that organise the Antwerp Record Fair ?

    Yes , visited . Busy when we visited mid morning . Fabulous venue albeit an open covered gallery . Top notch prices tho and speaking to one of sellers , UK dealers now tend to not attend which he found disappointing as for a buyer he found their prices cheaper ! Raphi who I know from the Perpignan weekenders was selling - had some nice 7 “ reggae , rocksteady , soul & northern but tended to be the exception for those genre and format .

    Only managed to pop in for a few hours, Added bonus, able to pick up direct from Gary Cape, Hit & Runs’ latest release - the previous unreleased Deon Jackson. Thought Movin’ was outstanding - its bi monthly (2pm -10pm), remarkably it’s also free admission. The Ivory is classy venue with a fabulous sound system & luxury vibe hence ideal for these Sunday soul chill out sessions. Similarly with the music -rarer, 7ts, x-over, new releases and an hour of ‘Northern’ from the residents, Mike Lowcock , Dave Cervi- Kilner and John Postill. Then adding to the mix, the superb sounds from John Britton. Highly recommended and for those travelling from afar - the gorgeous Spa Town of Harrogate is idea for a day trip or to spend a weekend break. Located in the Montpellier area , Betty’s tea room is just round the corner from The Ivory , car park adjacent, train and bus station 10 min walk and the eclectic ‘Space Vintage’ opposite. And yes , House Bros ‘shake’ did get a spin !

    Hi Dave . Timmion used to do 7’’ acetates so might be worth contacting them . ‘Carvers’ often now called ‘dub plates’ but the perceived market seems to be 10” or 12” rather than 7” .     Always a great vibe at this excellent venue making for a rather special Sunday afternoon of soul from the residents and guests, which on this occasion is the not to be missed, John Britton. My guess is also that one of the residents will have and give The House Bros ‘shake’ a spin ?

    Always a great weekend, albeit this time only there briefly . Caught some fantastic sets & tunes , not least from Paul Rockey and nice to hear earlier Con Funk Shun ‘move on up’ got a play , courtesy of ‘Sarge’ .
