'Bill F Whitten is undoubtedly best known as the fashion designer behind some of the most arresting outfits worn by Michael Jackson, the Jacksons and Stevie Wonder. During the mid-to-late '70s, he was also briefly the leading member of an eight-piece Atlantic disco outfit called Between The Two. While the band performed live around the U.S in 1977, they never released any music, despite making studio recordings of some of their songs. Here, two of those "lost songs" make it to vinyl to the first time. We're particularly enjoying the driving, celebratory, sing-along disco of A-side "Take a Little Time", though the jazzier, slower and more musically expansive love song "My Next Step" is also impressive.' sound clip for reference only pms please

Only knew Lee via the Newquay Weekenders , which had become one of our ‘must do ‘ over successive years . As said elsewhere , very much Lee’s baby - for a punter he was the perfect host , welcoming , personable , amusing , fiercely protective of his excellent resident djs , great record collection and an outstanding dj - with that uncanny ability to understand what was in front of him , expectations and yet the odd inspired surprise , never losing the dance floor reaction.

Didn’t the young entrepreneur, student Richard Branson use these when launching his initial (‘mail order’) record business ? Read somewhere he attached them to the vinyl label he was selling to avoid VAT .
