  1. Gave both High Inergy and Sweet Daddy Floyd versions a well received spin at Whitby Weekender .
  2. Nice version of ‘In Crowd’ as well Blake , though not sure if ever made it onto vinyl ?
Fabulous location , convenient for travellers being close to A19 , and in the shadow of the iconic Penshaw Monument. Previous day had seen Kubix festival on site with 17,000 attendees and in fairnesses numbers at Soultasia not replicated but still a good crowd enjoying an impressive list of quality acts (tho unfortunately Alexander O’Neil was ill) a massive stage , large screen either side and an amazing sound system . A slight breeze made the sun /high temperatures enjoyable . Plus there was a hugh Northern Soul & Motown ‘big top’ - I guess the largest at any festival anywhere for DJs playing Northern ! Added to which plenty of bars and food outlets it really was quite something . Recommend you check the other Soultasia dates up and down the country & attend if you can .
  3. Whitby Northern Soul Weekender. July 2022. Andy Bellwoods’ Rifle Club chillout set. Sunday 3/7/2022
  4. Been asked to clarify . It’s a special pre release order price of £13 plus p&p exclusively from Detour Records . (£15 plus p&p thereafter when in stock - subject to any availability)
  5. Happens at Whitby Weekender Mark . Disabled /less able have priority access via the lower entrance , no steps (down the access road & straight into the market place /main room). There’s also a lift to the modern room below , or the reception area /main front entrance above. All works well .
  6. until

Privileged to hear one of the finest 6ts RnB /mod sets I’ve ever heard! Pounding dancers , raw, rare & soulful. Every tune complimented & built upon the previous - simply magnificent . Hope a play list appears somewhere . Take a bow ‘Dekka’ (Derek Hammer) you’ve had a torrid time & so good to see you & back behind the decks after a couple of years (in the Market Place , Sat).
  7. By contrast . Mobile phone together with wallet of bank cards found at official Whitby Weekender and promptly handed in , with announcement over PA so relieved owner could re connect .

  13. Big thanks to members on here. Since Mike posted yesterday , pre release orders have been flying into Detour Records . We’ve also had another great review … https://www.soulandjazzandfunk.com/news/keep-movin-on-up-2/
  14. What a fabulous tune !
  15. Yes indeed Mike . Spinning a few at the Whitby Weekender at the Pavillion and their satellite venue , The Rifle Club . Good luck to the others particularly if they are raising money for registered charities . In the main they seem to be social get togethers in pubs without dance floors , some playing ‘vinyl’ others cds . Whitby for instance becomes a ‘Soultown’ for the weekend and the other events also cater for those who have missed out with the official weekender at The Pavillion being sold out .
  16. I’ve a feeling this thread is going to be controversial… Would like to hear justification from promoters of such events going head to head with long established official weekenders .
  17. Similarly , if anyone has pre ordered today not realising delivery is later and not happy , please pm me and I’ll gladly arrange a full refund via Detour Records .
  18. Thanks Dave for your understanding-it’s a complicated and fluid world out there .
  19. Hi Dave . Sorry for any confusion. It’s now available as a pre release advance order exclusively from Detour Records . Delivery is then expected (hopefully worst case senario ) 9th September . Detour & myself prefer to under promise but things are starting to improve in the vinyl manufacturing supply chain so fingers x’d could beat the 9th September advertised date .
  20. Many thanks Mike . This is what Detour Records (the distributors ) have said ‘DETOUR RECORDS are immensely proud in bringing you the much anticipated third release on this newly formed label. There has been much talk about this release and NOW you can pre order it. Don't hang about as the first release on this label sold out within TEN days of going on sale.’
  21. Needed for radio show , just needs to play well . pms please NOW SORTED
  22. A few pieces of vinyl sounds that went out over the airwaves via 95.3 fm every Tuesday , 1-3pm during this month (June) ‘Best Andy
  23. 1st got an airing and great reception at upfront venues a couple of years ago as a new release that quickly sold out (12’’ only). Great to see its now getting wider appeal & plays , helped I guess by the availability of more recent reissue on coloured vinyl .
