  7. Thank you so much for letting me know. I had spoken to Randy about it prior to him putting it up on the board. However he wouldn't move on his valuation which I thought was on the optimist side. Kind regards John

  9. Some great set lists in there, unfortunately twelve hours at We Are One meant we were under the weather and didn't make it. Nice to see Ady played Almeta Lattimore. Possibly the last play out before here passing was announced? Does anyone have any details of the death of Almeta Lattimore. Confirmation seems to be made here but details appear to be scarce: https://www.thestranger.com/blogs/slog/2015/06/12/22377522/this-week-in-music-memoriam-james-last-almeta-latimer-ornette-coleman-and-christopher-lee
  10. Some great music there Pete. Any chance of some of the other DJ's posting set lists, particularly Mr Fenn.
  11. Covered by Richard Searling as 'The lover who loves you not' as I recall. The name Herbie Williams comes to mind but I'm not certain of that.
  12. I don't know anything about Auctionsniper. However, I can thoroughly recommend esnipe having used it successfully over a number of years. John
  13. Thank you for that. I'm on Booby's Facebook page but hadn't heard these.
  14. I absolutely, totally couldn't agree more. Both to me are iconic Wigan (and elsewhere plays) indicative of the movement into QUALITY MODERN SOUL. I was reading a post on here earlier today re: TEARRA. Nice tune but not as good as either of the above in my humble opinion. Price, for a crappy copy on eBay, with faults, including duty, a thousand dollars. Backing up the collective view of you and I: Cheryl Berdell versus Pages Heartaches and Pains. Same period, same DJ's, same playlists/ clubs etc. I value them equally. Brilliant, brilliant, innovative records, literally scene changers. Over fifty years, I've bought, collected and appreciated many fine things, from art, antiques, sculpture, books and most of all memories and experiences, and I learned early that : 'Quality is remembered, long after price is forgotten'. Surely to the majority of people on the scene this applies in a revised form: 'Quality is appreciated and remembered, long after price is ignored'.
  15. Thank you Gaz, much appreciated. I've been lucky enough recently to spend quality time with someone within the scene who has been both a successful event promoter and experienced some of the Showcases in the USA over the years. I both celebrate,,and slightly envy, dear friends who, can count such legends as Sydney Barnes and Spyder Turner as friends. Conversely, never having met Bobby Cutchins, or many more of my musical heroes, a comment from them recognising OUR, not mine but the scene collectively's appreciation of the music they performed and produced invigorates these artists and in my opinion adds value to them in their later years. To discover in later life, that a performance, a record, a following you had, and/or, still have, vindicates the effort, hardship and sacrifices, made by these artists. I only wish that these many Artistes that succeeded, A:'would have know of it and B: would have, could have abs should have, benefitted financially.
  16. I feel privileged to have Bobby Cutchins amongst my Facebook friends. When I read the original Facebook thread, as mentioned in my original post, I messaged him, saying how much I loved, and appreciated the track and how it helped to shape both my musical taste and the transition between Northern and Modern soul of the late '70's early '80's imho. Here is Bobby's reply which I thought it would be nice to share on here: That is just awesome, John. I appreciate your support of my music. When john Edwards and I wrote "I Did It Again" we knew it was a good song but we had no idea it would be accepted like it has been and enjoy the longevity that it has enjoyed. I'm amazed and I feel extremely blessed that God chose me to be the messenger of such an awesome song. I never put a dollar amount on my musical gifts. God gave it to me to share with the world and for as long as I can, I will do just that. It's nice to make a living doing something that you love to do, but it's more important to me to share what I've been blessed to have with others. I'm just glad that there are people like you who can appreciate it.
  17. Best fivers/ tenners worth you can find in my opinion, arguably of course. From what I've read on his Facebook post Bobby seems like a lovely guy and a very caring person too. To me it's a record that epitomises the movement into modern soul and crossover becoming really big. As far as I remember it was played by Richard, Arthur and Sam and it was covered as JR Bailey "So Glad" as I recall.
  18. Just seen a post on Bobby Cutchins Facebook page, Bobby has ten mint copies of this for sale, best offers by private post to him. Incidentally signed too, if requested. What is this classic worth?
  19. "nobvious" Such a brilliant new word of advice, assisting in the afford to describe the dicks trying to rip people off.
  20. I still enjoy and appreciate much of what you played during both that spot and that period generally Arthur. I might get flamed on here, but as I view it, it was all a part of the huge progression that the scene was enjoying at the time due largely to people such as yourself, Soul Sam, Richard, Dave Raistrick et al.
