The Weymouth Soul Club Weekenders will be moving to a new venue in 2025 Hi all you WSCers our Christmas Party will be the last event at the Royal Hotel, this is because the Hotel has been taken over by a Coach Company that only wish to use the Hotel for Minimum 4 day holidays for retired people, so we have had to find a new home to carry on the WSC Weekenders. So the good news is we have found a new fabulous venue on the seafront at Weymouth at the 2 star Prince Regent Hotel. The Ballroom is fabulous and the dancefloor is sprung wood and similar in size to the Riviera Hotel so you are going to love it. We will update with prices and DJ line ups in a few days time We will be doing something a little different at the future weekenders as the Bar is not that big and even though we can put a small dancefloor in the Bar and use it for the Rare & Under played Soulies in the evenings we want them to be able to enjoy the Ballroom as well, so we are planning on the following... Ballroom 2pm - 7pm 60s,70s, 80s Rare & Underplayed Soul, RnB & Funky Edged Soul, so for you Northern Soulers, come and hear and dance to the tunes that will be crossing over to the Main rooms over the coming years. We will use the bar from 2pm - 7pm for 100% Classic Northern & RnB. Then from 7pm - 1am the Ballroom will be 100% Classic Northern, RnB & 70s Soul. The rooms at the Hotel are basic but clean & comfortable but the prices for the 2 weekends will be extremely fair and will include Breakfast & possibly an evening meal as we are currently in discussion with the Hotel. Also when you buy your ticket you can make your stay in Weymouth like a mini Holiday and stay for 4 days if you wish. As the one price advertised will be for 3 or 4 nights. The dates for the weekenders will be diffent The first Confirmed event will be Thursday 30th January - Sunday 3rd february (4 Nights) So the weekender will start at 3pm on the Thursday and finish at midnight in the Ballroom on the Sunday. The 2nd weekender still to be confirmed will be Friday 17th October - Monday 20th October (4 Nights) So will start at 3pm on the Thursday and we will end on the Monday night with an after party from 7.30 pm till Midnight. So we hope you will continue to give us your fabulkous support and for those of you who were waiting to come back when the Riviera Hotel reopened we hope that this new venue will be exciting enough for your return to the Weymouth Weekenders. WEYMOUTH SOUL CLUB 6th ANNIVERSARY WEEKENDER 12th - 15th September 2024 at the Royal Hotel Weymouth Hi everyone all the info for the September Weekender 6th Anniversary event. 3 Rooms of Soul catering for all genres of Soul and the best Line up of DJs we have had at one event..simply awesome. 4 days starting with the Thursday Night Warm Up on the 12th September As we will have the whole Hotel we will be playing music upstairs & downstairs through the weekend. You will receive an e ticket confirmation and we will have a register on the door. and the first 100 will receive a free Anniversary Patch, so be quick if you want one. They will also be on sale for £5 on the door. The Royal Hotel has a limited amount of rooms so we expect them to run out quickly, so if you miss out not to worry there are loads of Hotels & B&Bs on the seafront close to the venue. The Hotel are now taking bookings but please note the basic rate has gone up by £20 as September is high season. The Royal Hotel prices per night for B&B start at £109 for a single / £119 for a double and for Seaview and Superior Rooms a £15 supplement.
