  1. Crazybeat have copies of the RSD 12 @ £15 if anyone is still looking for Marvin cheers Sutty
  2. Its not Dave, the lets get it on version has whistling on it, as does the funk and soul 12, all tracks on that 12 were ripped from the expanded cd. Best of and biscuit 12 are the same, no whistling.
  3. Ok, for the 4th time, let's clear this all up First played from DAT, Chris Phillips on kiss, I still have the tape of it with the story of how he got sent it from one of the Mizzells and Marvin was staying with them in LA and they recorded 2 tracks in their basement one night. He was in LA mixing lets get it on. They of course wrote and produced for Donald Byrd. Some years later the best of cd came out & I told everyone on EMS email list the day it came out, I remember Gareth Donovan pretending he had some late night shopping to do to his missus that night as it was bizarrely sold initially through Tescos as a cheap comp. then the alt version was on the lets get it on expanded cd - Funk and soul 12 was booted from this and contains 3 other tracks as well from that edition Then booted again on the biscuit 12 from the best of cd then it came out on vinyl on the motown lets get it on expanded edition 2xLP. now this 12, which contains the 2nd Mizzells track, never previously released. and lets not forget the Funk Inc version, which is great too. Ciao Sutty
  4. As I said before, this came out on the vinyl version of the expanded 'lets get it on' album along with all the other unreleased tracks, so it's not the first vinyl release. However, woman of the world is the first release of any kind, so it's worth your dollar for sure! oh and there are two 12" boots of wawg, one with the whistling, one without, cheers Sutty
  5. Mary Lou Williams was a very influential jazz pianist, not a vocalist, she ran an open house and taught Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker & Thelonious Monk amongst others. In the world of piano playing she was without doubt a genius. She's made 100's of recordings including some really unusual albums including 'black Christ of the Andes' featuring a choir, and 'Mary Lou's Mass' featuring Carl Hall on vocals. Mary was her label. I've got a couple of 10" albums by her that are fantastic modal jazz trio pieces. I never knew about the 45 in this thread until a few years back and it sounds completely pants to me, and I'm not sure why Leon Thomas got involved either cos he's done loads of better stuff as well, but each to their own! Jazzman released a track each off the lp's mentioned above worth checking but they're jazz not um whatever the 45 here is ( sounds like something from a 50s strip movie to me lol) Cheers Sutty
  6. no love for the date and address then
  7. Discogs are unlikely to help, they're not the seller. Have you mailed the paypal address rather than using discogs messaging/sale updates? Some people don't have email notifications on and don't pick up messages (had this last week, when I mailed the guy, all sorted), or quite poss on hols or something has happened (if sellers feedback is good, expect it will turn out fine, it's rare I hit a real problem with anyone, most people are amicable I've found, much less like the Wild West than EvilBay) cheers Sutty
  8. Juno is a tramp reissue isn't it? The original went for $35 in 2010. Google told me that - i've never heard of the record - although as it's 'unknown', that'll be why then
  9. funnily enough i left 2 copies of lonette and 1 of chocolate syrup in a shop last week for £2 each as I didn't want them for myself and couldn't be bothered with trying to sell them. There's a sale today on here stating you won't find it cheaper anywhere else, despite it being 150% of the price a mint copy went for only last night, and it's on ebay every week. sellers asking £25 for a new 45 available on juno for under a tenner. Sellers offering house records for £20-30 cos they've been played at a soul do - Check discogs guys, they often start at 50p nowadays. You could do entire set of quality vocal tracks for under a tenner. i could go on... Posted after months of keeping my trap shut lol all records are worthless unless someone is willing to pay the asking price, something I think a seller like Pete understands and prices to sell cheers Sutty
  10. The Impressions 'young mods forgotten story' & Darrell Banks 'here to stay' win hands down for me, not only have neither got anything but great tracks on them they haven't even got a bad moment in a track
  11. They're all either just off or within 10 mins of Grande Place, head there and you can't go wrong - prices have risen over the years though , some nice records but you're paying the price - but then again I'd imagine rents are not that cheap in the city centre. Nice shops and people though. Cheers Sutty
  12. It was legally released on the EU double LP of the expanded 'let's get it on' album in 2008 on Lilith records (LP 1 is the original album, LP 2 is all unreleased tracks inc the Willie Hutch tracks - we can make it baby, try it you'll like it, you are that special one, I'm gonna give you respect, plus 8 others https://www.hhv.de/shop/de/artikel/marvin-gaye-let-s-get-it-on-133955 cheers Sutty
  13. that;s right, you said it was £2.27
  14. Thats 2nd class recorded for up to 2 x45, here's the pdf, just lookup the prices here. large letter up to 250g for 45 small packet up to 1kg for 12/LP https://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RM_OurPrices_Mar2014.pdf cheers Sutty
  15. £3.90 is small packet signed for 2nd class, which is an album price, so the package is as said too thick to go through the measure the p.o. use as a large letter, which would be £2.27 if it did go through. 1st class small packet signed for is £4.30. If you reduce the size you can send a 2 x 45 (up to 250g) for £2.34 1st signed for. So everybody is right in one way or another - Simples! cheers Sutty
  16. Thought it was worth mentioning this, I just noticed that a PayPal I made this week has in the receipt that I have up to 180 days to raise a dispute. Googled it and sure enough, PayPal extended the dispute period from 45 to 180 days on 17th June for the UK. This could be flakey for sellers who get hit with a dodgy chargeback 6 months down the line! cheers Sutty
  17. You have, courtesy of the sadly missed Boba https://abj.matrix.msu.edu/videofull.php?id=29-DF-1B Loads of great footage on that site cheers Sutty
  18. I've said this many times before but the reason for people not using eBay is nothing to do with eBay IMO when I want a record I google it. The first hit is almost always discogs so I go there for a set sale. The eBay links on google are usually out of date so useless. There are millions and millions of people out there who use google to look for everything, obviously. There are often copies on Gemm or Musicstack too, but where are they in google, page 5? Or page 10 if you're lucky with Gemm. and Discogs is free to list and cheaper fees, and takes 5 seconds to list, it's a no brainer for me, cheers Sutty
  19. https://www.discogs.com/marketplace?release_id=2842222&ev=rb
  20. This track came out on 45, b-side is nice too 'My head is my only house unless it rains'. Clear Spot is one of his more accessible albums. Always liked 'Observatory Crest' too and a few other ones.
  21. Reissue sleeve is glossy and slightly blurred, and the label has 'circle' like print on it like all the other boots done around the same time (Roy Ayers, JB's, etc) cheers Sutty
  22. mine arrived today, the unreleased track is one of the best unreleased 70's i've heard for years, and a really good pressing as well, nice work!

Not all music needs looping and extending, some of it is perfect the way it is, extending it doesn't make it any better. You have Rob as Dave has said only answered the questions you feel like answering that allow you to expound your own theories on the way the scene should develop and conveniently dropping in how great you are technically in the process. You accuse others of being stuck in some sort of safety zone, try stepping outside yours and take on board and give some answers to the valid questions instead of picking and choosing. Will any of this happen? I doubt it but willing to believe it might. Let's start by you showing everyone what the future should hold, as requested? And how about answering the questions about what events do you go to hear this limited style to back up your posts, or have you just read about it?
  25. Hi Dave, as said earlier, in no way was I referring to you in my post, I was referring to another seller on here, what you do is your own business and as you say we've never even had any contact cheers Sutty
