  1. If that's dollars not pounds i might be interested. If it's UK pounds you're mighty high on that pitch. cheers Sutty
  2. maybe he should buy records he wants to listen to rather than just to DJ with or have as trophies? cheers Sutty
  3. £10 is right i see it for that price quite regularly. ignore some of the gemm prices, they are just chancers with no hope of selling anything. in fact most have not got any stock at those high prices, they take the order as a back order then find it cheaper then sell it on to the buyer. I seem to remember girth saying some guy had girth's database readvertised at higher prices. my gemm sales are all sitting in a rack behind me at the moment i might add, so we're not all at that game... cheers Paul
  4. QUOTE(mark.b @ Dec 14 2006, 06:41 PM) link i like this is it cd or vynil mark https://www.gemm.com/item/WASABEE/THIS--IS-...E/GML872360461/      SOLD://https://www.gemm.com/item/WASABEE/TH...    SOLD://https://www.gemm.com/item/WASABEE/TH...    SOLD on a 12", the copy i have for sale is mint. it also came out a few cd comps later on. the b-side is really nice 'on a clear day' (i bought it when it came out for the b-side then flipped it over). the b-side is extremely influenced by the peddlers version. Just sold the 12" above but if anyone else wants a copy I have one with the 'this is what you are' as playing perfect but the b-side intro has a click (respect to crazybeats gazza dennis who i lent it to to play out the a-side and it came back with the b-side scratched ) its £5 cheers Paul
  5. if you're a Sandra Wright fan you're probably gonna like 'the last time' from this lp. there's at least 3 good reasons to buy the lp, ignore the hatters and the fact it contains 'wonder woman'. the four tops 'catfish' album contains 'disco daddy' but that hardly makes 'feel free' anything less than brilliant. people with agendas Â
  6. flip it to side 2 for one of the most sublime steppers ever recorded 'without you in my life' - perfection on wax.
  7. they're all Dusty Springfield fans Jordi Â
  8. finest vocalist in the last 40 years in the Uk is the bird from Swing out Sister! ave a word wiv yaself guvna! Caron Wheeler, Carleen Anderson, Jhelisa Anderson, Joanna Law, Alison Limerick, Maxine Braham spring to mind, there's loads of great British soul singers.
  9. fair enough Sean but I think you're splitting hairs if anyone is looking for an original 45 from 1977, they're gonna be struggling with 2 known demos someones just bought the lp anyway. best Paul
  10. there is no 45 vespadan, its lp only(do you think there's a chance), unless it was released in Israel or somewhere bizarre. no probs. cheers Paul
  11. Hi I've got the Luther Ingram LP, I don't think it was on a 45? I think the 45's were 'do you love somebody' and 'trying to find my love' from the LP. https://www.gemm.com/item/INGRAM-c-LUTHER/D...Y/GML874278570/ cheers Paul
  12. In the first instance it may take a day or two, as the Gemm people check the format is right and set up your template.
  13. i'd have thought it goes for more than that if ones like SF TKO's and Junior McCants go for £75+, this is a much harder 45 to get anyone to part with? I liked dogs answer best though, deserves credit for lateral thinking there.
  14. Hi Pete I use Gemm and use lists. Make an Excel spreadsheet of your entries and in the first line do the headers, theres a list of headings on Gemm you can use, I use something like MY CATALOGUE NUMBER, ARTIST, TITLE, LABEL, DESCRIPTION, PRICE IN £, FORMAT, CONDITION, CATEGORY. in excel columns something like this for each entry: 00001 | James Brown | Sex Machine | Polydor | Funk record Pete doesn't like | £3 | 7" | EX | FUNK,SOUL,NEW ADDITIONS Under Category, you can list up to 3 categories with commas inbetween, so you could do NORTHERN SOUL, SKA, NEW ADDITIONS for example, and those categories would show up at the bottom of your Gemm Catalogue page. You make these up yourself with as many different ones as you like to a max of 3 per record. Once you've completed your excel spreadsheet, save it as Excel then save it as .csv or .txt Do not change the column headings or whether you use .csv or .txt from now on, this is the template you must use for every update. In the Seller page there is an option to upload and replace your entire catalogue. browse for your Text file (not the Excel file) and upload it. In the first instance it may take a day or two, as the Gemm people check the format is right and set up your template. From then on, use the same process, but REMOVE the first line with the column headings in, as after the very first upload Gemm have set your template up so the Gemm Server knows what each column means. Just replace your catalogue each time. Only bind is you have to manually delete entries from your spreadsheet each time or you'll put up records you've sold. Also it is important that if you are using your own catalogue numbers in the first column that each one is unique, if you use the same catalogue number for 2 records the second will not show up. If you have more than one copy give them seperate personal catalogue numbers. The Gemm system removes all sales from the site as they go along. Drop me a mail if you need any more help I found it confusing at first, but once you get your head round it it works well, cheers Paul soulcitizen@yahoo.co.uk
  15. as an aside, how come people have been paying the amount of money they have for this 45 if it sold 65,000 legitimate copies in Germany alone!?!
  16. i'm not saying who it was as i like the guy. i just stopped selling him any records!
  17. not unusual, i sold a batch of 45's to someone on this list who paid me not just after he listed them but after he'd sold them and got the money in...
  18. check this and wait until near the end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBnNKRKgJWE...ted&search=
  19. maybe you could try this kind of sales technique https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting
  20. heres the 'i can't take it anymore' track in a slightly different mix that i did on my old computer for something to do one boxing day a few years back after the mince pies had run out. https://www.yousendit.com/download/zSIPhQa2bWx5TA%3D%3D
  21. it was reissued on a 12" but it was the lp version. not aware of any remixes recently but you never know...
  22. he sang 'i can't make it anymore' at woodstock. sure the 7" is on Verve Folkways label not Forecast? 'Goin back to my roots' is an excellent version. cheers Sutty
  23. otis redding 'white christmas' is fantastic, as is the b-side'merry christmas baby'. if you can't find the 45 it's on here: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...2IS4?vi=samples
  24. bit pricey you'll see it cheaper. if its in that glass cabinet i believe he has a permanent 50% off sale, so its £8.50 which is ok. check the condition as well he's seems to price things up without checking them properly. i almost bought an lp off him and it was shot to bits when i got it out of the cover. might see you there i'm going to pop in tomorrow at some point. cheers Paul
  25. Simon, it's a David Ruffin LP!
