depends if you only want a 45, but there's the original Gloria Scott lp on ebay now, plus plenty of reissues of it, and it's a classic soul lp which is why it's always so in demand. The track's also been on cd comps, so if you desperately only want that track on a 45, buy the cd and get a carver done. if you haven't heard the lp, check it out. cheers Sutty

issued on here in 2000, is it a genuine 60's acetate or a rip from the cd?

give them a little time, similar thing happened to me, got my money back as I also noticed that the seller suddenly had 17 negative feedbacks in a month so assumed it was a con as also no response via ebay. 3 weeks after the refund the records arrived, the girl had to go away at short notice and forgot to take her ebay shop offline with her auctions in, she got thrown off ebay, got loads of chargebacks, and i couldn't contact her via ebay to try and pay her again as her account was no longer valid. she lost 2 years trading goodwill and a lot of money over a simple mistake, if i could find out who she was now i'd pay her straight away, i felt terrible about it, it must have cost her thousands. it's not always as bad as it seems, and things do also get delayed or misdirected in the post. cheers Sutty

backatcha Nusha, take out the fact it's a song that Womack did and you are left with a second rate record. If you're so interested in banging on about new music then have some taste and recommend some decent new music instead of average records like the Kelly Rowland track. Kelly herself has done better than this before, and so has Mariah, so instead of assuming people don't like it because they don't like modern music, think about the real reasons most people won't like it - because it's not very good, and it's only being discussed because Womack did it! LOL there's tons of new music about worth the people's coin, so why bother defending the average like this? not everyone disliking a modern recording has a 'northern soul/old is best' agenda you know. cheers Sutty

too right delorenzo, may not be a popular view on here possibly but the seller you mention is nothing more than a total liar and con artist. sold me a record, never got it, seller never responded to any mails until i raised a paypal dispute when he said my address was wrong and it had been returned. checked his feedback, he'd sold the EXACT same item two months previously and the guy lost his money as it was not via paypal. then proceeded to offer the SAME item for sale AGAIN 3 weeks later on ebay and sold to a buyer who NEVER GOT IT EITHER! what a surprise! pattern developing here?!

oh come on guys, this album is not scarce at all, it sold loads of copies and it's still around. it's readily available, and just because a one off sale of a different curtis album went to some nutter doesn't mean this album sealed would go for the money mentioned here in reality. there is no evidence whatsoever of any of this theory, you're speculating, it hasn't happened, or if it has, when and where?

by the same token i'd like to see your evidence of someone that would pay that amount for it! LOL

There is no sealed curtis album worth £50, the first solo lp is £15-£20 tops, you shiuld get a mint-minus for around that price easily.

if its the 6-track 'MCA America' sampler, i'm pretty certain it was a bootleg taken from the promo cd. Uptown in soho used to get these album samplers in that were boots, Ann Nesby and Malik Pendleton were a couple of others. i think the fact it was a boot actually makes it rarer.

they're all £5-£10 records Pete, you should be able to reference most of them on ebay/gemm, etc. they may get priced up above that occasionally but do they sell? i've picked up/seen 2 cecil parkers, randy brown, several drizabone for less than a fiver out and about in the last year. sorry m8! cheers Paul

is there any difference between the 7" and 12" versions (the 12" being a £10 record...)... and I don't mean 'yes, the 12" has 5" more vinyl and won't fit in my vanity case' cheers Paul

we had a discussion about stevies original version on ems a while back, the concensus was that it slipped out on 'looking back' possibly in error, but that it had not been released previously. both great versions (hil st. soul do a good version too), cheers Paul

is this film actually released? ("Vinyl")? it was around in a bootleg form on t'internet and I missed downloading it and would gladly pay for a copy if I could get one. "there are only 4 bands in the world beginning with the letter Q"

last time i played the 45 out i was asked who had remixed it, when i said it was a 1964 the guys jaw dropped to the floor. great record. took me a few years to find it and finally got one about 7/8 years ago and not seen another one. not on any isley lp's from the time either. cheers Paul

i'm with you on this - fantastic album, i only picked it up myself recently and side 2 in particular is absolutely some of the best dells/charles stepney recordings ever. forget about trying to find tunes to play a northern nighter and sit down and listen to an amazing album of a band, arranger, musicians and songwriters hitting a creative peak. 'when you're alone' and the cover of terry calliers 'just as long as we're in love' are some of the finest 70's soul ever recorded and breathtaking. ignore at your peril. IMHO. oh, and marvel at where 4hero got a lot of their recent ideas from cos it could have been recorded yesterday. cheers Paul
