  1. It's about as right as this, which appears to involve not just a vastly inflated price, but time travel as well, seeing as it was recorded and released in 2002! Sven Zetterberg - Heartaches was alll you got £70 Rare original of the 70's crossover biggie
  2. I just misread that as "It's a 72 track LP that was pressed on a 45" and was like lol
  3. Hi Russ, glad you are well, take care buddy Good day to you to Mal, long time no see! And to Eddie (hi to you too m8 and also long time no see) who started the thread and asked for an MP3, I assume you don't own an original 45 and thought you might like to know you can pick up a legitimate re-release for peanuts and listen to the record at your leisure. It's well mastered, nice loud cut, and not a bootleg, but that was never the attempt. Anyone attempting to pass off a one-sided 12" of a track as an original 7" would have to think the buyer was pretty gullible really, but then again, some of the sights i've seen at all-nighters in the past, I reckon it might just get past one or two people out there if you hit them at the right time of night... cheers Sutty
  4. Unless you actually live in a venue, pretty pointlesss buying it then anyway! lol Sounds fine round my house, I might play it in a minute
  5. U know this was reissued on 1 one-sided 12", officially I believe, a couple of years back, should you want to entertain yourself with it at home and still have change for a new car https://www.discogs.com/Mixed-Feelings-Sha-La-La/release/1591229 cheers Sutty
  6. Bizarre that the replies point the guy towards no soul music recorded in the last 10-15 years apart from the house variety, but the very era he doesn't want lol as he states 1975 is not actually modern as such so try https://www.firstexperiencerecords.com/ https://www.crazybeat.co.uk/ listen to Solar/Starpoint/Stomp radio shows on the net, make your wants lists and contact the dealers that sell this stuff, along with searching Discogs/eBay, etc 'modern soul' is such a broad church (and many will argue that 1975 is still modern) and there are thousands and thousands of great releases, you really have to search out what you like cheers Sutty
  7. PM'd you cheers Sutty
  8. where DOES he get his ideas from! only kidding Mart
  9. Following that discogs link it seems that Richard Flowers wrote NF Porter 'Keep On Keepin On' as well as 'For Real', never made that connx before assuming it's right?
  10. you could always try this
  11. I think you're aiming a bit high there... https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=1476814&ev=rb https://www.cdandlp.com/product/2/113941795/solid-solution-loving-you.html https://www.recordmania.net/?ref=lookup&recid=SLN62692&PHPSESSID=fd3e840febee85adc4df38713c8b7e0d https://www.musicstack.com/listings.cgi?find=solid_solution&t=loving_you_-_silver_spoon&media=Vinyl
  12. Well Ian is a dab hand at design, he did the early Kent comps for Ady...
  13. The funniest piece is the Isley Brothers 'My love is your love' green and white demo mug, when it was a photoshopped bootleg label for a non-existent 45
  14. Remember the David Rhodes fiasco played out so publicly a few years back, where it was claimed it was an o.g. 70s press (when it was a 70s recording on a recent press). The b-side gave that one away, it had a 90s sounding drum machine on it, and the labels were in a modern computerized typeface if I remember lol, so it's not always about the vinyl cheers Sutty
  15. The GSF 45 with 'It's a New Day' on the other side is a boot? Both the British and the USA issue? news to me, is this true, surely not? cheers Sutty
  16. Saw your post on EMS in wants and replied there, I have a Mint copy here I can post straight away give me a shout soulcitizen@yahoo.co.uk or via PM on either site cheers Sutty
  17. Sadly not in this case, remember picking it up when it came out, think it ended up in a charity shop in the end. Blaze have made some fantastic records. This isn't one of them though... listen before you buy no matter how big a Blaze fan you are cheers Sutty
  18. 99% of the posts on this forum relate to the northern soul scene, it's known as a northern soul forum (and a very good one), so i'd say yes you are predominantly on a 'northern soul' forum, that's why most people come here? Yes it covers other bases but that's it's root audience (not that there's anything wrong with that of course). You write as if i'm criticizing you in some way, i'm merely stating that if you step out side the collectors bubble represented here, you'll find thousands of people who are not clued up on original vs reissue 45's, are not part of any 'scene' ("The original copy has been known and played on the soul scene throughout Europe for a long time"), don't frequent forums and when they want a record, they look directly via ebay or google. So the buyers probably happy just to have the tune on vinyl, and the seller wasn't misleading anyone and is also probably happy. The fact the buyer doesn't shop around is more his issue: https://lmgtfy.com/?q=ambassadors+%22ain%27t+got+the+love%22+arctic
  19. In answer to your original case of the 'sad bidder', this particular track was sampled on the Pete Rock and CL Smooth classic 'I got a love' many years ago, as i'm sure some/many will know, so the likelihood is that this was won by someone who's more into finding the original track on vinyl that PR sampled but not necessarily bothered about finding an original pressing of the track. Not everyone out there is as clued up as people on this forum as regards Arctic Records 45's and I guess quite a lot are really not that bothered about originals/boots/reissues, as long as they can put the needle on the record and listen? I can't imagine this ever got played on the northern scene anyway did it, doesn't sound like a northern 'sound' to me at all? Just a thought... cheers Sutty
  20. I've got a Lena Horne issue up for sale here if anyone's interested, it plays perfect, i'll do free post on it to anyone on ss: https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/30766526?ev=bp_titl cheers Sutty
  21. This is known in steppers circles for 'catch a falling star' which is the side I bought it for years ago, about £20 is right. Can't tell which side of the 45 is scanned there, but 'star of the show' is awful IMO. cheers Sutty
  22. Go here for the best never-released GSH & BJ live concert ever IMO including an amazing 15 mins+ version of the bottle https://neverenoughrhodes.blogspot.com/2008/09/gil-scott-heron-live-at-bottom-line.html this is so much better than 'it's your world', enjoy! it's been freely available for years on the web. the 15 minute version of 'home is where the hatred is' is pretty amazing too. cheers Sutty
  23. But it already was a big record wasn't it? it's been known and played out a lot for 20 years+, one of the 70's tunes that got plays at northern nights such as 'Janice' and 'Please don't send me away'... stay awake at the back Ian
  24. I just realised that from the scan earlier on, at the time they were being 'got' it was a total secret squirrel though, I assume the source ran out of copies so there was no need to get the needle out and scratch it off the label
  25. no probs. he didn't get that many and as far as i'm aware he never sold one without the address scratched out, so unless someone else has found more copies or discovered his source that he wouldn't reveal (not even the vague location never mind the actual address), it must be still pretty rare and around in low-ish numbers, it always went for £100 but I guess it's gone up now by the looks of it (much like everything else...)
