  1. The sad thing is Mal, she's down to 5 now
  2. Believe it or not, these are tulips....
  3. Mum and 15 ducklings
  4. I've done it over the years and it's never been a problem Julian, my cousin in New Jersey is a little fed up of it though.
  5. It is secret in that it's privately owned and not open to the public, it was fun working there, but the owner, being a multi-millionaire didn't like to part with his cash, so the budget was very tight and the wages ridiculously low.
  6. It's a very small patch Neil, I used to be a head gardener of this 2.5 acres many years ago, but I'm getting old. The tree visible just to the left of the central lawn breaking the horizon is one I planted.
  7. Spring bulb display and Oak leaved primula , all planted in Lancashire after I arrived from Spain in late September.
  8. I should have looked at Andy's message before answering. Doh!
  9. The south coast I can understand Steve as there were several released on the Isle of Wight, London must have been a fun place to see one though. I saw one take a ladies hat off at a falconry display many years ago in South Wales, most impressive.
  10. Heard this morning that White Tailed Sea Eagles have been spotted in south Lincolnshire, sadly not there to see them.
  11. It's definitely on the list of to do things Steve, I've missed British wildlife so much I get excited watching the geese fly over. Saw a melanistic pheasant a couple of weeks ago, sadly no camera, but will be walking the dog that way again to see if he's been lucky to avoid the guns.
  12. No, I'm hibernating, maybe once it gets more spring-like. I don't like winter.
  13. View across Morecambe Bay yesterday
  14. They are Andy, I Googled it.
  15. Cleveleys this afternoon
  16. I vaguely remember Ratty. Jean was living in New Zealand the last time I was in contact with her.
  17. I got a CD too Andy, but had to pay for it.
  18. Paul, if you were from Grantham our paths must have crossed at some time, I used to hang around with Jean Ellerby and Liz Moore, both from Grantham at allnighters at Peterborough, St. Ives, Kettering, Cleethorpes and Wigan up until late 76 when I joined the Army. I was privileged to see the play in the Greenwich Theatre, and managed to purloin a small poster as a memento of the night. Thanks, Dave
  19. Sorry, no, I'm still sober, LOL
  20. I'm glad it's not a British Rail as I'd be even more confused
  21. And another instance of my travels, the loon is the state bird of Minnesota, my home for ten years and I have a loon tattooed on my arm, loonie is also what the Canadians call their one dollar coin as there's a loon on the reverse, I lived in Toronto for 10 years too. Out of interest, did you enjoy taunting your teachers? I used to love winding them up.
  22. Spent years in the states Steve, seen ducks that would make some twitchers very envious. And just found out why I shall continue to call them Merganser, their scientific name is Mergus merganser, so I feel somewhat justified.
  23. Am I right in thinking that's a pair of Merganser?
  24. Arriving at De Montford Hall Leics. for an allnighter only to find we were a day early and Emerson, Lake and Palmer were on.
