  3. I'm sure we can persuade Mr Taylor to dust this one down
  4. Always a great night and what a line up for February - I recall Alex giving this underplayed gem an airing the last time he was on at Culcheth......works for me AND it's a twofer
Thoroughly enjoyable - had a great night and on this occasion a chance to visit the modern room as I was on early in the main room, wowser just brilliant As already mentioned packed from when the doors opened - this is a venue that deserves that electric atmosphere so hats off to the team for delivering a fantastic night. Even the corridors had a buzz about them LOL See you all next time

  6. Happy Birthday pal x 63 my ass
  7. Dave Holt reliably informs me that Chris King played this covered as Bob Hinsleys Strings that night
  8. I gave this one its first outing at Culcheth before lockdown - to my surprise it got a great reaction as something quite a few of the faithful hadn't heard played out before!....job done (accidentally LOL)
  9. I might roll this out if I'm brave enough LOL - not something you hear too often but great Northern none the less IMO?
  10. Not bad BazM - worth a spin if I can fit it in
  11. Lots of scrabbling about in the playbox going on for the Lowton Anniversary - anything could happen Requests welcome
  12. Looking forwards to this event immensely - Lowton was the jewel in the crown of soul nights throughout the 90s and up until the venue sadly closed (I think that was 2017?) but Culcheth is a worthy replacement! If the last anniversary was anything to go by it will be rammed so get there early and expect great things from both rooms
  13. For any of you wanting to remind yourselves of the magic from the Morcambe years (or even discover it for the first time) this show from the man himself (Richard Searling) is a musical tribute the the fabulous Morecambe Pier All-Nighters, 1983-1986. After Wigan Casino closed, these events kept the Northern Soul flag flying high in the North-West with an amazing mix of classic Northern and high-quality Modern Soul sounds. You can catch up with many more of Richards radio shows by following him at: www.mixcloud.com/spurs1961.
  14. Better late than never lovely girl
  15. Latest news - Follow the steps on the reverse of the flyer (posted below) for a chance to win 2 free VIP entries to the venue for the 40th Anniversary

Another great episode in the Ashton Ukrainian story - well I enjoyed it Great attendance especially considering the footy and weather which is a sign of the quality of the night methinks! A bit late, but here's my playlist - always great to be able to throw some of the underplayed and less obvious in and DJ with an appreciative crowd........so thanks to all who attended and make it a special night month after month.
