  1. BVAN monster from BazM
  2. I know you like an early spot Sir Bob but that's stretching it even for you Full marks for commitment though
  3. Soooo many tunes - so little time
  4. This seemed to hit the spot in July - something different never hurts (too much LOL)
  5. I'd better start dusting down the playbox for this one - no pressure at all following on from the last event HONESTLY!!! Maybe ease into the set with a shuffler or 2???
  6. DJ timings for Saturday night (subject to the usual disclaimers etc.) Phil Dunn 19.30 - 20:30 Chris Churm 20.30 -21.30 John Hillel 21.30 -22.30 Paul Shirley 22.30 - 23.30 Mick Howard 23.30 - 00.30 Not that it really matters a great deal in an event that's busy from kick off at 19:30 right through til the finish, but maybe a chance to plan your bar visits
  7. what Sir Bob says
  8. Ah the old favourite - gotta love a crow
  9. Another instalment not to miss, all the reports about the July event were right so this will be the place to be in August for sure
A belated review - I'm an expert at excuses but I won't bother LOL Another great night at Culcheth and as my fellow regulars have already waxed lyrical I can only agree, walking into the main room at just after 8 to see the layout changed threw me at first, but I actually enjoyed the decks being at dance floor level - it just worked really well for some reason! Sir Bob was his usual competent self - cool as a cucumber and right on the money, nothing new there - I followed and gotta say I'm not used to the earlier sets so that was a new challenge; no pressure following Bob and leading into the Willinghams set then eh! I've posted my playlist below for fun. Carl & Maria smashed it out of the park as expected leaving Mick Howard to deliver his usual polished performance (great job Mick) and at the top of the night Kev Murph himself kept things rolling right up until he was politely asked to play his last record by the obviously wilting staff LOL Great venue, great music, great folk - see you next time Simon Ingham 21:00 - 22:00 The Sparkles - Try Love Tommy Ridgley - My Love Gets Stronger The Celebrities - I Choose You Baby Irma and the Larks - Without You Baby The Gambrells - You Better Move The Paramount Four - You Don't Know The Thornton Sisters - I Keep Forgettin' Nat Hall - Why Carol Anderson - Taking My Mind Off Love The Venturas - Heart Of Love Curly Moore - You Don't Mean Ernestine Eady - Let's Talk It Over Timmie Williams - Competition Jerry Ganey - You Don't Love Me Lee Rogers - Go Go Girls Edwin Starr - I Just Wanted To Cry Billy Butler - Sweet Darling David Coleman - Drown My Heart Flash McKinley - I'll Rescue You Supremes & Four Tops - A Taste Of Honey True Image - Keeps Me Dancing (Alt.)
  10. Almost time to embark on another adventure to Culcheth! - never a dull moment let's see what tonights' surprises will be
  11. It's a deal I'll show you the text trick later
  12. Not had a chance yet Bob - is that an official request???
  13. You never know what you might get to hear at Culcheth
  14. Class
  15. Maybe a smattering of R&B among the selections I'm dusting down
  16. Time for the big room maybe
  17. Never a dull night and always a class selection of tunes to be heard at Culcheth in either room - looking forward to it as always
  18. I'm gonna have to have a rummage in the boxes ready for next week!!! maybe this one from pre-lockdown dates at Culcheth and a favourite of mine??
  19. We can expect big things from the Willinghams as always Bagsy on before them
  20. Only 1 sleep, looking forwards to tomorrows installment and what the DJs have in store for us! As has been voiced here; it's a great line-up so won't disappoint I'm sure right from the off with Phil Dunn who always sets the night up with some interesting selections, through to smiling Stu Cheetham himself who went down a bomb last time he featured......that together with Geoff Stubbs, Chalky and Alan Jenkins in the mix; I might need a good old rest on Sunday
  21. You don't need it Stu knock em dead
