  1. Wish him a speedy and full recovery
  2. It was what I expected it to be have seen it all before, nice to see Colin Curtis on it. Elaine always in my view always gets it right in her discriptions of her experiances of the scene and why we get involved, don`t know her but would love to met her.
  3. The one thing all wars have had in common throughout history is that they have all been fought by ordinary people not the idiots who start them. when are people going to stop listening to them and just get on with there lives, times running out for all of us what ever we do with our lives. I have every respect for our armed forces I must add, as my late grandfather said I wasted five of the best years of my life fighting Hitlers war and he was one of the lucky ones who came home and lived a long and full life, another quote he made was that any one who has lived through a war would never start one.
  4. Well done Pete some great tracks, love the oldies who doesn't`. Thanks for your time and effort.
  5. Loved his music and always will, thanks Bobby for the memories RIP.
  6. I stopped going to the Saturday nights around October 1977 gave the scene a rest till around march 1978, went to the oldies from then on about four or five times a year till September 1981 my last ever visit to the casino, although I have been to the town its self several times on business and have been to the site of the casino on a few times.
  7. After 32 years why bother, I bet very few locals can recall the casino by now.It is only of interest to the live in the past crew on this scene. I went to the casino many times and have visited Wigan a few times on business with my previous employer in more recent years, I always liked the town and it`s people and the casino as a venue was great, but please can we move on.
  8. Thanks for all your hard work compiling these podcasts, without doubt in the opinion of myself and the many people who attended the Stafford allnighters was one of the scene`s best periods glad I went there.
  9. Brilliant story and a epic record, glad to hear Margaret knows of her record is loved by many.
  10. I love this tune in my opinion this is at the apex of mid 1960`s Detroit recordings. I have had the pleasure of hearing this out twice in recent months, at stoke last month via mick h and at keele via Ginger. This is what I love about the rare soul scene ordinary people doing extraordinary things such as recording this great record, thank you Margaret Little for your efforts all those years ago you were not a failure as the full dance floors at venues testifies.
  11. I have always rated Ian clark as one of the best DJ`s, during the scene`s long history. Have had the pleasure of seeing him DJ at many allnighters, the one that always sticks out in my memory is when he came on at the Ric tic revue at Hinckley in January 1983, straight after the live act`s. I wish him all the best where ever life takes him.
  12. I have always enjoyed hearing jazz-funk, takes me back to the Birmingham Lacarno alldayers in the small room 1978/79.It was a welcome break from the non stop oldies in the main room, this is from a life long northern fan.
  13. RIP Alfie Davidson, always enjoyed hearing Love is a serious business thank you making it possible.
  14. I had the pleasure of attending two allnighters at this excellent venue in August 1977 and September 1977.I will always consider this a much better allnighter than Wigan, which I was at the time attending at least twice a month. It had a much more varied DJ line up and playlist because of it.In my experience one of the most underated allnighters of the 1970`s,many thanks to the promoters for leaving me with very fond memories.
  15. Musically I have no idea, one thing I am certain of is that my life would have been a lot poorer without this music, and everthing that goes with it.
