Come and join us for another across the board soul night We start at 8pm, but doors are always open at 7.30 for a bit of a warmup. The October has a backdrop of Edwin Starr when he played down the GEC ST Leonards (MRI) club.

Unfortunately due to the gangs prior commitments we have had to cancel our Soul Night at the Rangers for August. The good news is we have anther fantastic afternoon of soul planned for Stafford Rugby Club. Come and join Mark, Jayne, Mick, Rose, myself and our 2 guest DJ's Steve Bratt & Martin Shaw, for what promises to be another brilliant event. Totally across the board soul music We start at 3pm and go on to 9pm. The air conditioned room and large patio area are superb. There is also excellent quality food on sale on the day. The last 2 have been brilliant afternoons, so come and join Mark, Mick, Rose, Dave & Jayne for some more great music and dancing. Guest DJ's for the afternoon is the fabulous John Heaney & Julie H. The next Stafford Soul @ the Rugby Club “Sunday Summer Soul Event” is on Sunday 12 June 2022. - 3pm to 9pm What feedback we had from our first event at the club back in May, the club staff were welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us, the “Soul Food” was amazing – the best burgers ever and the venue was just spot on. Stafford Rugby Club plays a major part in the Stafford Northern Soul story. Many of the local soulies, including myself, would frequent the old rugby club for their regular fix of Northern back in the 70’s and early 80’s. In many cases the first taste of Northern Soul. These were some great days with many great memories. At our next event our guests are Keith H Morgan and Mick Moylan to make some new memories.

The first of our “Summer of Soul”, inside & outside events in Stafford. We have brought the date forward a week so it is on the Bank Holiday weekend for your enjoyment. The venue is ideal for a Sunday event good location with good parking, great function room and fantastic patio area, keeping our fingers crossed that the weather is good to be able to use it. Many of us Stafford people started our Soul journey at the old Stafford Rugby Club in the 70’s and 80’s, what great times those were. The new Rugby Club promises to make some more great times and memories. We hope to see you there.

Our next soul night for 2022 at the Rangers is Saturday 19 Feb with our special guest Mark Freeman. DJ times for Feb:- Rose will kick things off at 8pm, Mark Morris 9pm, Mark Freeman 10pm and to close the evening Mick Oakden at 11pm Playing Northern, Crossover, with a hint of Modern Soul Although the night starts at 8pm we are always in the club at 7.30pm playing a few tunes to warm up, so if you want to arrive that bit earlier to get a table that’s fine with us. STAFFORD RANGERS SOUL NIGHT - CHANGE OF VENUE FOR ONE NIGHT Well sorry to mess people’s plans around. As the regulars at Stafford Rangers Soul Night will know for the last few years we have had a soul/party night on New Year’s Eve at the club. This year the club have decided they don’t want us on New Year’s Eve, much to our disappointment & frustration. We did try getting a date in December and tried for the 10th Dec (the only date available), only to find that the lads who run the Amasal soul nights, just 2 minutes from the Rangers had already booked a soul night that night and had Nige Brown booked as their guest. We are obviously not in the business of causing friction and so decided to CANCEL the Rangers for the 10th Dec. Mark & Mick have been working hard at an alternative for December and have booked the Monckton at Penkridge for Saturday 11th Dec for our December Soul Night. It promises to be a great night, although Rose and myself unfortunately can’t be there. Can we wish everyone who attends Stafford Rangers Soul Night a great Christmas and we will see you all in the New Year xx
