  1. Acquired a copy today, from Des Parker and whilst he gave me some info with regard the vocals, and Dee Edwards etc. and having heard an (IMHO) inferior version, by a duet who've now slipped my mind (he also told me who the duet were, but alas I'm going senile ) Can anyone give me any information on the Dee Wolf Prod Inc label, and moreover its original whereabouts etc. TIA wilxy
  2. Ged, tell him to cut to the chaste, and insist he's an OVO guy, and would a 7 inch version of the snake do for starters, would also suggest he wears a hard hat and gumshield in case of a negative response
  3. I would love to see Deon Jackson perform live.....although I appreciate there's very little chance of it ever happening

  7. A few come to mind......Cochise- Paul Humphrey, Green door-Wynder K. Frogg, Witchunt-Dezro orchestra......OK in their day....but embarrassingly cringeworthy in wilxyworld nowadays
  8. Great thread Russ, with some equally valued and respected input, and whilst individually many of the titles suggested are mouthwatering in their own right, rewind 35 years or so, and the mind boggles .Appreciating the playlists back then contained both good and some bad on the ear tuneage.....IMHO a "fly on the wall" back in time session would be the best way to gauge such rightful "debate" ...... best wilxy
  9. Webby, is this a honey trap? and furthermore are you undercover Inland Revenue?

  22. From the compilation point of view, and with related choice track as per question, whilst initially certain compilations "did it for me" the track albeit that didn't follow traditionalist "Northern Soul "ilk but was always "ringing in my ears" was the Curtis Mayfield penned "Make me believe in you" by Patti Jo as part of the Solid Soul Sensations Album.....A difficult acquisition I believe as a 45......but one I let go early doors
  23. Fair do's to you "Webby"......You weren't the unknown Temptation by any chance were you? Love the Temptations, likewise, and have seen them several times, albeit somewhat unfortunately only latterly since early eighties (no disrespect to later line ups meant) Apart from the classic 60's tracks, also love "Papa was a rolling stone" etc. but my personal fave is- I wish it would rain.......class
