  1. Some great LPs out there and usually at a fraction of the cost of 45s. Currently love listening to Jimmy James's "The New Religion" LP and in particular his take on "The Entertainer" and the truly awesome "Ain't no big thing" .
  2. Saw him at the Shaw Theatre in 1988 or 89. Absolutely superb voice.
  3. One of the records that I loved when I first got into Northern. Played it off an ABC compilation LP called "Out on the Streets Again".
  4. If anyones got a nice copy for £250 I'll take it.
  5. Still got a load of lists from those halcyon days of the early 80s. Soul Bowl and Pat Brady's list were the ones that I always got. Anyone remember the Soul Stop Records list? Always had King Tutt for a tenner and Billy Hambric (Drum) for seven quid!

  7. Sam Dees - Lonely for you baby. Mint copy fror a tenner from Dave Withers. Johnny Gilliam -Room full of tears. Tenner well spent with Soul Bowl Both about 1987.
  8. Saw him at the Bridgewater Hall only last week. In all fairness he looked very frail and didn't have anything like the energy and verve of Jack Ashford. Don't suppose he was particularly young...70 something..Can anyone confirm? Very sad..Think I'll play a few of the great Pied Piper classics he played such a part in putting together

  11. Bought a white demo copy last month off ebay. Likewise has JW006 scratched out in the dead wax. Seller was adament that it's an original. Can anyone confirm how to spot the bootleg/reissue? Manship's Guide doesn't list it. Cheers Keamus
  12. Hello Chalky. Is this the issue with cartoon cover of Swamp Dogg and article "written. by the man himself"? Cover date is 85/86. Other interviews include Edwin, Ben E King plus Tammie Terrell story. Cover says number 4 volume 2. Bought from leading NS News Agent.. Dave Wither's 20 years ago.
