  1. I sold my Ralph Graham LP a few weeks ago. normally it takes quite a few months before I start regretting my decision but it's just started early this time. Thanks Baz for that.
  2. I remember Steve Woomble & Shaun Kearney's legendary Cleethorpes Sunday modern sessions were Ady once wrote in the programme Steve Woomble if he doesn't leave at 5, chuck him in the pool. Culcheth You've been warned this could end up a mini nighter. (If he's had a drink) LOL

  7. It's been quite a while since I stuck this on the turntable so a definite for the 6th. Does sticking it on the turntable make me sound slightly ancient. Baz would call them the wheels of steel or something similar. Great record though by Sir Joe Quarterman "A guy for you"

  15. Matching last month musically is the challenge so here's one possibility for the early doors crowd. Tony Mathews ~ My Wish, quality from the off.
  16. Chubby Checker ~ You just don't know UK issue & You don't know UK demo.
For me the best Culcheth yet. It will be hard to top. Musically the Dj line up worked well, the dancefloor was busy all night.Great set by Simon kicking off with my request for Vigon a first time play at Culcheth and him being delighted how well it went down with the dancers, Mick followed Carl & Maria with tune after tune aimed fairly and squarely at the dancefloor, and Kev finishing the evening off with some of his classic mega rarity's. Carl & Maria was the icing on top of the cake.their music was top notch,I hope you can get them back on some time soon, the decks worked better dancefloor level, I felt more involved, the sound sounded great, there was no excuse to have the volume too loud, you couldn't have put us any closer to the speakers,I loved it in fact I'm still buzzing. The banner looked great as well. Congratulations all round for a belter of a night. I caught some of Ged Lunts set in the modern room and his taste is right up my street. perfect modern soul. This is the first time I've felt the need to leave a review but the night was that good.
  17. Here's another taster of what you can expect from the across the board soulful experience of the main room. This one from Jimmy Armstrong is of the rare 60's northern variety.
  18. Yes what a brilliant twofer, I love both sides. Great label as well.
  19. I know you're spoilt for choice but If you think you can fit it in without having to dump your Celebrities or Dennis Edwards or Walter & the Admirations then yes it's an official request. How come your text is always bigger than mine.
  20. Simon, Have you played Vigon out yet, I love it. For me it's the best version.
  21. This one from Sharon Jones featured in quite a few of my sets on Simons wonderful BVAN show during lockdown, Should be popular for the dancers in the main room. Don't leave the dancefloor till the trumpet fades. Brilliant
  22. I'll play Tommy Turner for Moe my better half who took early retirement earlier on this year. not Tommy T's Lady. but Lazy (b'stard) I'll get my coat.
  23. This is another one of those brilliant records that I first heard at the Mecca and I've stupidly sold on in the last 12 months. I keep telling myself you can't keep them all. Only Baz & Robbo can do that. lol
