  1. Darrell Smith doing a fantastic job on The Drifter
  2. Frida Touray was the singer on Gone with the wind
  3. If my memory serves me correctly didn't Allan help run & dj at those wonderful soul nights in the 90's at Newton Aycliffe. I can't remember the name of the venue but I remember musically it was top class.
  4. I've heard of someone in the Manchester area with the nickname Bob Kettle or something like that, who can work wonders with warped records. maybe somebody on here knows him. Personally I've tried the one on you tube were the guy heats up 2 toughened glass chopping boards in the oven on the lowest setting, remove them from the oven and then place your record in between with a weight on top and then leave it for about an hour or so to cool down. I left the record in it's sleeve to protect it. It worked the first time I did it but then I tried it again on another record and failed miserably. I got too cocky and tried it with too much heat all at once. Only try as a last resort.
  5. I did but my wife wasn't best pleased. boom boom
  6. Up for sale today is a modern soul rare groove classic 12" rarity Kareem "Never give up on love" Exploding Plastic Records NM £150.00 Considered one of the modern soul must haves mainly because of the Radio Mix that samples Ronn Matlock's "I can't forget about you" giving the record that rare groove feel. Released only in the UK in 1997, this is NM vinyl, the sleeve has some slight wear (see pics) for sleeve condition. I think the last one was sold on here for this price about 4 years ago so don't sleep on this one. I can accept paypal but as friends & family please to avoid the fees if possible or add 4% to cover the fees. Postage is £5.25 sign for mail I'm sorry but it's UK only on this one Thanks for looking Bob

  8. Flippin heck Dave, this is the most impressive village hall I've ever seen. Robbo will be absolutely gobsmacked lol
  9. "Law of Tehran" on the BBC I Player, What a wonderful powerful film, I watched it this afternoon. Basically it's about an Iranian officer hell bent on finding the drug lord who's supplying all the addicts in his district. The acting is absolutely brilliant by everybody. Just over 2 hours long and it flew by. 10/10
  10. Sorry I've just noticed they're European Films, that's why there's no Parasite"
  11. I've also seen 13 of them I thought Almodovar's "Talk to her" was great but I enjoyed his "The skin I live in " more. Pans Labyrinth, The lives of others, Son of Saul definitely worthy contenders but no "Parasite". it was No 1 for me. I've just watched SISU and thought it was the most entertaining, jaw dropping 90 minutes I've had in a long time, 10/10
  12. WOW what a beauty, I've only ever seen this for sale once, it was on one of Brownies Auctions many years ago. Excellent choice.
  13. Joan, fab tunes & Vimto smiley face, I'm thinking that's not your normal fruity soft drink. Probably similar to the Milk Plus the Droogs drank at the Korova bar in A Clockwork Orange. lol
  14. I always thought The Barons of soul ~ You need love sounded better pitched up slightly. It seems a bit sluggish to me at 45rpm
  15. PM'D You Thanks Bob
  16. Rob you're looking very smart in this pic, have you been visiting uncle Teds shirt designer?
  17. Simon, On the subject of Explosions & Dynamite do you think Gis'll have his WW1 Dads Army Helmet with him. lol
  18. There's a M- one on Anglo Americans auction Currently £500 finishing next Thursday.
  19. I'm sure the official A side would have been popular at Prestwich, It has that Juicy fruit vibe
  20. Baz, whilst on the subject of the Modern room, Tony Blackburn played this beauty on his Radio 2 show as a new release a few months ago. You seemed to think it was from the 80's/90's, I must admit it was new to me. Did you ever locate it in your vast 12" collection
  21. I loved the Sky Arts documentary on Ennio Morricone, The Good,The Bad & the Ugly theme tune reminded me of the intro of this classic from Ollie Jackson, The flipside was massive at Wigan however this side takes me back to Blackburn Tony's Empress
  22. Mick A double WOOOOSH.
  23. Whilst I have the Lp bag with me I'll take the Wilson Williams album as well, I'm pretty sure it can be played in either room. Methinks Richard Flowers of the brilliant & mega rare Flowers "For real" 7" wrote and produced this track.
  24. Here's a little known fact, Jim Eddleston found the first 2 copies of this on Boss Records and sold me one on the condition I covered it up as The El Darados, which I did, it never really took off first time round so Ian Cunliffe had it off me, I think it ended up with Tim Brown. Here's another interesting fact about Jim. He also found the first copy of The Prophets "One gold piece" on Shrine that was thought to be unreleased at the time. Jim Eddleston one of the unsung heroes and sadly missed.
  25. I've noticed on some of Simon's latest playlists that about 90% are male vocalists, However this beauty from the female variety features on his playlist occasionally. All I'll say about the video is there's 3 damn lucky boyfriends/partners out there. Lol
