  1. JM always calls records that are still in their company sleeves, birth sleeves.
  2. Nice one OSO (Original Sleeve Only), I take it you didn't call them Birth Sleeves in front of Tim, he'd have thrown you out. If I'd known you were there doing that I'd have come over and helped you out, as you know I don't mind rolling my SLEEVES up. I'm here all week.
  3. Baz, I think this was a past spin for Robbo many years ago.
  4. Congratulations Rob in your new role at the Culcheth OVO Quality Control Dept
  5. I don't think a couple of comments on here will affect anybody's enjoyment of a record that they love. It certainly wont affect any of the bidders for the copy on John's auction..
  6. On his site John mentions Terri's unique vocal style makes this tune so very special. I'll bet there's a few acts on this weekends "Britain's Got Talent" with a similar unique vocal style.
  7. Yes mate, he's been pushing that one for a few months now.
  8. My god that's a tidy list of records mate. He's a bloomin dark horse that Ingham fella.
  9. Baz after last months 22 DJ, 3 Rooms, 12 Hour Marathon, I'll bet this months session is like a walk in the park, having said that you always make it look easy.
  10. The main club for rare soul in Bolton was The Cromwellian Club (The Crom), The small upstairs room was were all the rare soul was played like Mickey Lee Lane, Mitch Rider "Breakout" Bobby Freeman "I'll never fall in love again" The Prophets "I got the fever" etc. The main DJ was Phil Coventry, rumour had it he didn't even have a record player at home to play all of his top sounds on. I can't remember what night of the week was best but it had quite a good reputation for all of the Bolton & Farnworth soul lads and lasses.
  11. Mike asked the question if anybody from John Manship Records is reading any of this, then why don't they get in touch with their customer, they could do this via Soul Source I'm sure. In the past whenever something unfavourable has been posted on here against JM, somebody connected to the company has been quick to respond to it, are they're still a member?.
  12. Peter how can you say that when you didn't even buy anything. I did and received my order within 2 days but if I'd splashed out a lot of money and was still waiting for an update I'd be bloody annoyed about it.
  13. The Winans "Let my people go" was filling UK dancefloors 40years ago. Wonderful albums by Be Be & Ce Ce Winans have featured on Richard Searling, Mike Shaft and many other soul shows over the years.
  14. Bloody heck, I've just spilt my coffee all over my laptop reading this flyer. A very interesting description of forthcoming acts Carl Douglas & Jimmy James & The Vagabonds
  15. The last time I saw Mick H DJ was at Lifeline and he played United Sounds to a very responsive crowd. I wonder If he'll have this with him.
