  1. Good grief Don't want to sell mine but if anybody's gonna pay over £100 for it just pm me.
  2. Not gonna be everybody's cuppa tee but the thing that's on my deck most of the time at the moment is "Gonna Be There" by "Terry Gengis" Wouldn't know where to start to post up a soundclip but if you click on the link then go to the 12" section (also on a 7") & scroll down you will find a short sample https://www.lotuslandrecords.net/
  3. Also a sure fire cure for pile's & various STD's
  4. All is not lost Brett, you can get the washing up liquid out with these.
  5. Open to offers on any of the above (but keep e'm sensible guy's)
  6. Best comment on here for weeks Thanks to Simon for reminding me it was covered up as Perpetual Motion, been bugging me all day.
  7. Stunning record Just been remixed by Dimitri from Paris & Vincent Montana on Defected but i think it's only on the CD (remix of DJ Genisis on it as well & loads of other good stuff). Have a listen to the new mix on this link. https://www.defected.com/eflyer/dimitri/ Think Fish at First Experience Records should still have the original version (prefer the original too but the remix ain't bad) check his stall out at Prestatyn in the modern room. Mart...
  8. Don't normally do these top 5 things but i've just sent a profile off to Steve Cato's cool off site so here it is. Thing is i could change my mind next week on e'm all apart from King Tutt. All time top 10 (this is gonna be tough!) 1 King Tutt - You got me hung up (been my no 1 since the 1st time i heard Soul Sam play it at Leeds Central many years ago) 2 Bileo - You can win, (always brings me round when i'm feeling down) 3 Velvet Satins - Nothing can compere to you (proper northern, simple uptempo magic) 4 Jasper Street Company - Smile & Another day (cheating here, couldn't split e'm so i listed e'm both. top drawer soulful house with quality gospel vocals. If you don't know e'm check e'm out, you won't be sorry) 5 Ike Strong - Your love keeps me dancing (Northern, Modern, Disco, Funk? i dunno, bit of everything i guess. Only track in my top 10 that i ain't got so someone help me out please!) 6 The Incredibles - Crying heart (for gods sake why dosent this get played out more, awesome record & still cheap) 7 Ron Hall & the Muthafunkaz - The way you love me (What! a 2005 release in my all time top 10, just listen to it & i defy you not to dance. Point proven) 8 Darrel Banks - Open the door to your heart (Suprised? I think if your'e being honest with yourself this should be in everybody's top 10 somewhere, just an awesome slab of soul music) 9 The Pretenders - Just be yourself (See Bileo for description, best birthday present i ever recieved from my ex wife, guess she had her good sides!) 10 The Pages - Heartaches & pain (takes me back to Clifton Hall, so good to see it getting revived by guys like Butch)
  9. Have a look here. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...indab&x=18&y=13
  10. Ya not kidding! £5 a copy at beating rhythm but loads on the bay at the moment. Didn't one go for about £80 a few days ago?
  11. Cheers Brett, Wasn't casting any doubts on the auction item but the album is shrouded in mystery (not your copy Modernsoulrecords but the album in general). The mystery has thickened a bit more now with this & i'd love to own the copy up for auction but i fear the bidding will go too high for me (unless i can sell some of my items in sales ). I would still like to know why the Salsoul logo appeared on the Ramshorn copies & why the mis-spelling? Anybody?
  12. Hey up Roger. Was actually going to bid on this & was trying to help him out a bit (didn't see it was his 1st post until after my reply). Guess if i've put a smile on your face it wasn't a waste of time after all. Good luck with the big un tonight mate Can't make it but im planning on coming to the next night down there when the modden rooms open. Mart...
  13. Jesus wept! why the atitude? All i was doing was asking a few questions to the regular members of this site about the item you have for sale before i placed a bid on it. If you read the link i posted you will see why i had my doubts (have you read it?) If you read the link you will see that the album was originally released in the States on Soulstreet records & the mis-spelt Ramshorn bootlegs were released in 1983, you have said in your e-bay post that your copy was made in 1984. I am not doubting yours is an original copy but i was just trying to clear up the mystery surrounding this disc. As for your comments about my huge knowledge you are just insulting anybody who does not own a copy of this record, how on earth do you expect to sell it by making such stupid comments. One of the reasons i replied to your first post was to keep your original post at the top of the site & to get peoples attention on this site to something they might not have been familiar with therefore helping you with your sale. WISH I HADN'T HAVE BOTHERED.
  14. Strange one this, not sure if it's a Dutch boot or a legitimate re-issue (sounds daft but the boots are original 1st copy's i think). If anyone can solve this mystery i'd be glad to hear from them cos it's a great album that iv'e been chasing for a while. Click on the link for some more info & a listen. https://www.danceclassics.net/images/Thumbs/pages/Network.htm
  15. Thanks Rachel Hopefully i might sell a few now. In fairness though i did feel Brett's 1st comment was relevant to my original posting (not sure about the others though). Mart...
  16. Cheer's Simon Now all i've got to do is find a copy on vinyl. Anybody got one?
  17. Looks like being the last Saturday in July Sean, 29th. Hopefully it shouldn't clash with much as there are 5 Saturdays in July. Looking forwards to this one. Should have a bit of a warm up for it when Arthur guests for us on April 21st. See you in Cleethorpes on good Friday Sean, looks like being a stormer. Mart...
  18. Is there really any need to post this in 4 different sections?
  19. Bit of a long shot but has anyone got a good quality MP3 of Never Can Find The Words - Sir-Prize? Came out on a Budweiser 12" in 1987.
  20. Too right they were the day's Steve. Hope Arthur's still got it cos he's doin Modernism for us in April. You coming
  21. Read a great letter this morning in the Metro newspaper regarding mis-heard lyrics. The sender thought It's raining men - The weathergirls was called Israeli Men. Anyway getting back on topic here's a couple of summery tunes to cheer you all up as most of the posts seem to be about bloody rain. East Coast Connection - Summer In The Parks. High Frequency - Summertime (12" version) in my all time top 10...
  22. Wish i'd seen em but i'm always a bit cautious when it comes to eBay. Just out of curiousity what did they go for?
  23. Don't sell stuff normally but the bills are piling up & there's a few things that i've been offered so these have to go i'm sorry to say. All prices include 2nd class postage, if you want registered, recorded or overseas etc its extra (whatever post office charge). 1 Syng McGowan - Thats What I Want - Hope 551, Mint £125 (just sold for £184 on mr Manships auction, save nearly £60)sold 2 Machine - My Baby Loves Me - Jarrett, Mint £60 (another recent auction item of Johns, went for about £180 so it's 2/3 off, i must be mad) 3 The Boss Man - You're Taking Too Long - Gamble demo, Mint- £75 (see quite a few issues for sale but very rarely see a white demo, might have slipped up here) 4 Barbara Lynn - This Is The Thanks I Get - Atlantic black & white demo, Mint- £40 (looks gorgeous, sounds gorgeous) 5 Janice - Skip Mahoney - Underworld 7" Ex+ £75 (rarer than the US copy on Salsoul me thinks, would have been £100 if mint) 6 Raymond Smith - Seven Day Lover - IX Chains demo, Mint £35 (getting a few plays, bound to go up)sold 7 Eddie Holman - Eddie's My Name - Parkway, EX- £40 (couple of surface marks, plays perfect) 8 Ray Charles - I Don't Need No Doctor - US ABC, Mint £30 (still in ABC cover) 9 Gene Chandler - Bet You Never Thought - Constellation white demo, Mint £30 (Gene's best IMO) 10 Larry Clinton - She's Wanted In Three States - Grapevine, Mint- £35 (one of the harder tracks on Grapevine) Please PM if interested or if any questions. Thanks for looking, Cunnie.
  24. I'll second that. Been after this since the early 80s & this is the 1st copy that i've ever seen for sale. Was a little suprised when i saw the price fly up to over £3000 though, just shows how rare it is. Anybody got a spare 3K to lend me
  25. C'mon then Bob, you've dangled the carrot. When's it out, just checked on traxsource & couldn't find it. Any chance of a link for a soundclip? Mart...
