  1. Robbie Grant had a copy in his sale's box on Ramco at Prestatyn for £500 but if you ain't got that kind of cash spare it got re-mixed on Keb's BBE label in 1998 (BBE12005) Should be able to get a copy for a tenner if you shop around.
  2. Don't be daft MAK, He's gonna be the car park attendant
  3. Sell it me then for God's sake before i have to buy the copy on the link . Thanks for the link SOUL SATISFACTION
  4. Anybody out there got a copy of Are You Choosing - Gifted Four? Don't mind if it's on CSC or Hamito-Semitica 7" or 12" will do. PM with details if you've got 1 for sale & i'll get back to you. Thanks for looking, Mart...
  5. Don't worry bout the canna werms Dave, them guy's are at it all the time Can thoroughly recommend Coxy's do at Lucarly's . If your'e going over & your'e stuck for a navigator get in touch as i ain't got a lift yet. As for all this CD v vinyl bollox i think i've got a soloution, the new Cunniedisc (kinda rolls off the tongue don't it) that i'm working on, 6" diamiater, plays as a CD on 1 side then 10 years later you can flip it over & play the other side on your record deck. Perfect soloution for the Modern/Northern scenes
  6. I file my tune's with these.
  7. Ha !, 2nd track (My Conversation) was ripped off by Judge Dread but is far more famous (or imfamous ) as the record that we send folks home with at our Modernism nights. Some nice stuff you posted up there Pete Had a copy of The Loser years ago & moved it on as you do, More fool me eh Always thought Keith "Slim" Smith committed suicide in 1973 though? Great voice without a doubt.
  8. More like the manager at Yorkshire Bank will go beserk when he finds out
  9. Hi again Dave Wish you'd stop bloody putting things up for sale that i'm desperate for but can't afford at the moment. Sideshow - Sexy Lady an awesome tune, sax break to die for. Go on, how much? Mart...
  10. Hi Lotusland, seen the King Tutt's on your website & wondered how much they were. Know of about 6 copy's of the 12" in the UK including 1 demo copy, funny thing is i've never seen a demo of the 7" version. The 12" is a bit of a holy grail for me (had a couple of 7s but can't track down the 12) Great site by the way Currently playing the Terry Gengis that you have got listed but got no idea of it's value. Any info? Here's a link to the site https://www.lotuslandrecords.net/
  11. Sometime's i wonder if it's me being on PS, Hope the wound from the CD tray flying out has healed, reminded me of Arkrights till in Open All Hours
  12. Not really Gav, more of a dig at DJ's who just go through the motions. EG, Turn up 10 minuites before they're due on, play the 20 records that they have decided on & then piss off as soon as they have been paid. Dodger summed it up perfectly in his earlier post regarding his comments about Sam, still as keen as a 21 year old & still doing it because he loves it. Same can be said for Dodger, both Dodger & Sam have done spots for Modernism & when Sam was on he was bouncing about like a kid with a new toy behind the decks. Hope i've still got as much enthusiasm when i get to that age. As for Dodger the night he did our's we were quiet for a number of reasons, clashing with other night's, shit weather etc. but he still drove over the pennines & did a great spot with as much enthusiasm as if the place was packed to the rafters, he even turned down his fee as we were quiet & just took his petrol money (didn't know he drove a Rolls Royce though ). That's the point i'm trying to make, guy's who do it for the love of the music rather than how much they're gonna get paid.
  13. Thanks Mike Should just make it clear that it was not an age thing, far from it but perhaps i could have worded it a bit better. If you click on this link from this site & read post 21 i'm sure you will see what i mean. /index.p...opic=26394&st=0 Hope that clears it up.
  14. No problem Mike, should have known better rhan to name him, still owe him 1 though the crafty sod for cleaning me out over a game of cards a while back !
  15. So the up & coming DJ thread has had over 250 posts & over 7000 views so here's the dilemma. Before we know it there will be more DJ's than punters Saw a guy do a spot recently (not who i originally mentioned) & he spent the full hour rooted to the spot with his arms folded & it was clear he couldn't be bothered & it was the longest hour i have ever witnessed. Not going to name him for the simple reason that luckily i've forgot his name. Remember this is just a bit of fun so no personal attacks please.
  16. You forgot to post this in freebasing. Bloody put it everywhere else....
  17. No offence taken Rod, just a bit of fun. Tell you what i'll do - If your'e that disillusioned with stuff like Mother Fox & Record Player i'll gladly take e'm off your hands for a modest fee to cover the p&p, it's the least i can do to relieve you of such dirge . Off to Tesco's now to stock up on cream soda Lata, Mart....
  18. Hi Dave & welcome to the madhouse. Saw 3 copy's of King Tutt at Prestatyn, 1 for a crazy £500 1 for £250, about right i guess & 1 that a kid had bought for £60 the lucky b*st*rd You didn't say if the King Tutt was a 7" or a 12" If it's a 12" it's totally worthless along with the Family Of Eve & the Ike Strong but it's your lucky day as i'm feeling really generous so i'll give you a fiver each for them
  19. Good call Rob At least we now know where the dividing line is. Must admit that i did play this once & i got an overwhelming urge to wear a patch laden vest, a beer towel, baggie trousers, a pair of Clark's poly's that resembled Cornish pasties & to carry an empty holdall round with me that was clad in even more patches. Never been so scared in all my f****n life ................................................................................ ................................................................. Going off topic but do you know why they changed there name from the Carstairs to Universal Mind? Because car's don,t have stairs.... OK, i'm getting my coat......
  20. Summed up perfectly Sean Today's Modern = tomorrows Northern. Hopefully see you at Cleggy but there's a hell of a lot on that day. Mart...
  21. PM me your e mail address & i'll send you an mp3 of the Black Box when i get home from work. Great track & not easy to get.
  22. Well i've been a right lazy sod in recent months & i haven't had a column in Manifesto for a while. I tried my best to dodge Mike Ritson at Prestatyn but to no avail so i promised him i'd get my column back up & running. Any Yorkshire promoters who want a free plug in May's mag just let me know on here or pm me if you like & i'll give you a mention in the mag but keep it brief for now with the details (example of my night below). Try & get the details to me before 10th of April so it give's me a bit of time to edit the details, don't forget folks outside Yorkshire might read it so no thee's & tha's! (might be tough for some of the Sheffield folks ). Who know's, i might even come along one night & do a full page review (bribes accepted!) Here's what i'm looking for. MODERNISM 3rd Friday monthly Bar 10 Wellgate Rotherham 8pm to 12-30 Admission £3 Playing 70s to present day releases Thanks, Martin "Cunnie" Dixon
  23. Bob Jones kicked his set off in the modern room on Saturday to a packed floor. https://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=sh...itle_id&cv=3559 Might be a few years before it works it's way round to the northern scene though
  24. WHY DON'T YOU MAKE UP YOUR MINDS...
  25. PM Me ya e mail addy & i'll send you the live version Russ. Bit too big to post up on here as it's 7.49 mb
