Here you go Mike.
This link takes you to the Traxsource site. Think that's the only place you're gonna get it before it's release date in July.
Pretty good re-mix but most of the Bah Samba stuff can't be faulted.

Butch & Soul Sam.
If false names are good enough for them they're good enough for me
Cunnie aka Martin Dixon but quite often called several other unrepeatable things
Might suprise you here Shane but the majority of Soulful House intro's get right on my tit's
They sound great if they're played out by a dj who knows how to play & mix them properly but when you're sat at home & you just want to listen to some music they just don't work.
Why on earth don't they squeeze in a radio edit somewhere.
I'm sure you know what i mean
Glad you like it Billy
Its Fred Williams & the Jewels Band - Tell Her.
Not sure if it was ever officially released, won't be cheap if it was but you can get the cd re-issue here.

Brilliant record.
Our new resident at Modernism, Julia Nicholl's got a 10" studio acetate of the 1st take they did before the lifetime release. Totally different version, bit mellower & not as disco'y. Think it's a one off.
Only place your'e gonna hear it's at our Modernism nights unless anybody knows any different
can't believe i just said disco'y
Before you all shoot me down i'm getting my coat
Thanks guys.
Was bidding on the copy on e bay but wasn't sure of the value so i stopped at about £40 .
Simon, send me your addy again by pm & i'll sort you that tape out with Ramsay & co remix on it, lost it the other week when the site went tits up.
Anybody got an mp3 of Freddie waters to tide me over until i turn a vinyl copy up.
Mart...
Seem to get asked to play Ron Hall every month at Modernism so last month i thought i'd do something a bit different & i played this to finish the night.
Surprising how many folks don't realise it samples Teddy Pendergrass.

Heard a similar thing about rival promoters telling punters that a "Rival" venue had been cancelled in the town nearby only this weekend, ought to be ashamed of themselves or more ashamed of getting caught at it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too right Rob, knocked our numbers right down.
Lot of our regulars had calls/texts saying we had cancelled.
Not 100% certain who was behind it but when i find out i ain't gonna be a happy bunny.
B*st*rds
Keep promising to get my arse over to Yarmuff so ya finally convinced me Sean.
Will be there next year, I promise.
Would also be nice if a few of the contributers got over to our little shindig in Rotherham tomorrow night, how ya fixed Sean?
How about Rod, Pete & Baz coming over as well, if ya do guys the beers on me all night but no wearing earplugs though ya hear
Oh shit!
Partly responsible for this as i played it at our 1st Modernism night nearly 2 years ago & also played it at Prestatyn in 2004 & killed the place stone dead
Heard someone else play it the same weekend & they got a similar reaction (think it was Hobbsy but don't quote me on this).
Proceeded to give it away but then bought another copy as it was getting requested.
Also played it at Modernism when Sam guested for us & it went right over his head at the time (as did Vincent Montana).
If folks ask me to play it now i try to make my excuses & give them a cd of this to listen to.
It's Betty Wright doing the original version live.
Proper SOUL music....

As the Dalek said to the dustbin - "We all make mistakes" but let's not forget DJ Genisis was recorded as a "Tribute to Betty Wright"
Time for this Months "slag off Modern" thread is it?
A very good friend of mine is a very big Robert Johnson fan & to him 60s soul is Modern so i guess the answer to the question has to be a resounding yes.
If you don't know who Robert Johnson is don't bother doing a search as you wouldn't understand my point anyway.
Just read these Robert Johnson lyrics from 1936/7 & see if they sound a little familiar.

Apologies in advance for posting up this soundclip & no i ain't got it.
A familiar tale of cross Channel postal inadequacies told in fine style by Mr Franklin.
The crepe paper, the circus cannon & the local Royal Mail football practice is something we are all familiar with but then your fine tale comes a little unstuck Brett.
The more observant members of this site must surely have noticed that the Royal Mail would never and has never employed an Indian elephant as they are far too intelligent and would never try to ram a 7" wide parcel through a 6 1/2" wide letterbox.
Only an African elephant would embark on such foolishness.
Your'e nothing but a fraudster Franklin, a fraudster ya hear...
Don't worry Dung. My lips are sealed.
Had a Willie Fisher & a Ray Munnings 12" demo out of there in recent weeks
BTW is Dung a Japanese name or have i got the wrong end of the stick again
Great link James
Was only talking about this the other day in a friends record shop in Sheffield.
His shop sells collectable vinyl from all musical genres but as a soul music fan he kind of specialises in original & re-issue soul releases..
For the last few years he normally moves about 1/2 a dozen copy's of each re-issue a week but in recent months this has dramatically dropped.
A classic example is the recent Bill Bush boot. He has had 1 copy in the shop for 6 weeks without a sniff of a sale (terrible record IMO but that's besides the point).
Good to see Sheffield 2nd in the list, Backs up the hard work done by local Sheffield promoters like the Vault Of Soul lads, John Vincent etc & also makes a promoter who started a venture recently look rather foolish as he said he was "putting the soul back into Sheffield"
Seriously for once Dave.
Lot's of theories on this but the most popular one dates back to the early 1980s when the now legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles was the resident DJ at a Chicago nightclub called the Warehouse.

The rest as they say.....
