  1. Wasn't you Kirsty. This lass had black hair (on her head ) As for being mentally affected i'm still in rehab from the Frobisher last year
  2. Aggreed Terry Had some great nights at Bretby & will take the happy memories with me till the day i die. Loved DJ'ing in the Modern room & i still say the sound system you put in there was the best on the soul scene ever Best night? The night Colin Curtis was on was a good un even though he was about 3 hours late but the standout night for me was the night it clashed with the kings hall nighter. You, Cliff Dale & myself were the only DJ's in't Modern room & we did about 3 hours each but the crowd just went for it. Remember the night when the girl in the thin white dress was dancing in front of the uv light Met some great people & some real characters in both rooms. Mart...
  3. Who's Ollie's dancing double then Kenny?
  4. If you all think that's bad just look what somebody's done to poor old Stan & Ollie https://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...aurel+and+hardy PS. Contains some "adult" language.
  5. Quite funny this as quite a few of the folks on this thread who are slagging off John Legend are on the Amy Whinehouse thread saying how good they think her "Rehab" publicity stunt is. No comparison IMO. I'm not saying Save Room is the best record ever made, far from it but it ain't that bad. Now picture this scenario. JL chose not to release Save Room & it lied in the vaults for years until some enterprising DJ or record dealer stumbled on it & cut it onto an acetate & stuck a Motown artists name on it. Not as far fetched as it sounds with the Stormy connection. End result - Northern monster. Seen it happen before haven't we
  6. Saw a mate get offered £100 for the boot a while ago & he turned it down Sort of thing that goes for silly money on e bay if 2 folks get in a bidding war.
  7. Got a Spar "re-press" with Heartbeat - Bill Purcell on the b side you, or anyone else for that matter can have for £20 inc uk p&p. PM me if you want it. Failing that if you must have a 1st issue there's a lovely mint white demo in JM's auction.
  8. Bloody hell Simon! Post up any more like that & i'm off down the pub
  9. Here's a little clue for you Sean. Neil had a record box at Clifton Hall with flashing lights on it.
  10. Hey up Simon, Always makes me laugh does this topic. 1 minute everybody's saying get it back underground then the next minute when attendances at venues start to drop & nights shut down everybody's discussing how to get new face's & younger fans into the scene to keep it going. Best thing is we get a few new faces into a club & what happens? We all slag e'm off & call e'm bloody "handbaggers" Make's my blood boil at times Sorry if this sounds like a bit of a rant but i've just had some Jehova's witnesses at the front door & boy did they get it. Don't think they'll be back for a while
  11. Go & have a play down here Gabriel. When you've mastered it be sure to post the results from your mixing experiments up. I'd love to hear the results. /index.php?showtopic=34618 Off out now so i expect to see some results when i get back ya hear (unless you're going out yourself Bouge) Mart...
  12. Good luck with it Gasher Know from posts on here how much you want it.
  13. Got a mint copy with Bill Purcell on the b side for sale. First £20 can have it inc UK postage. PM if interested. Trivia time, can anybody remember what Bill Purcell was covered up as by Sam?
  14. Copy of Ellipsis in Manships auction Gasher. How brave ya feeling
  15. Got to give a mention to Janice Price & our very own Julia Nicol from Modernism. Both doing a spot in the modern room at The Earl in Doncaster tomorrow night so it should be a good'un. Must also give a shout to Soul Underground's Lin Taylor & future Modernism guest Jane Carter. Probably gonna get shot down in flames for this (what's new!) but i think you lasses put more thought into the music than most of the blokes who dj. You girls will play a tune because it's good but most of the blokes will have to play a tune because it's rare or it's a demo or because Manships got it in't auction or i'm on before him so he can't play it etc etc. Fire away...
  16. Top call Mark. Was split over which to post up but thought the VM would have more appeal on here. Longer version of Su Su on this link (click on set free fuzion mix on the music player) https://www.myspace.com/frankeestevez See you at Donny tomorrow Gareth for the Janice v Julia showdown
  17. So you all prefered the awful Amy Whinehouse to John Legend Sticking with the old new music if you know what i mean this just blows e'm doth away. All the info you need is on the link & there's a soundclip as well. $4 well spent as it ain't out on vinyl for a while yet but when it it i'll put a link up if anyone wants a copy. https://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=sh...les&cv=5097 Mart...
  18. Was just about to get all heavy & wrap ya knuckles over the mp3 but as it only works for 15 seconds i'll let ya off. You can listen to it all on this link if it's any help. https://hype.non-standard.net/track/170505 Loads of copies for sale here but i'd read the reviews 1st. https://www.amazon.com/Outsider-DJ-Shadow/dp/B000HCO8IG My opinion (for what it's worth) Nice track in a mellow kind of way but i don't think i'd buy it. Mart...

    Zz & Co

Just curious but if he has would it be so wrong seeing as he ain't received any cash for it getting used on the so called "legal" compilation cd's? Only one i can think of at the moment is the Soul Supply "Essential Modern Soul Story" Great record anyway. Remember Searling playing it covered up as Oscar Perry & yes it did jump near the end.
  23. Hi Mel, Sorry to be a killjoy but could you try using the clip player at the bottom of the page to post your sounds up. Thanks, Mart...
