  1. Refrained from mentioning Brid as I DJ there & didn't want to appear biased but must agree about the rare room on Saturday night as it was rather good.
  2. Like these. https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/really-useful-9l-xl-box-n67fl?gclid=Cj0KEQiAq_SkBRC3jLvJ1IPt2eIBEiQASUZy1_ksinUnRHDff0uNOuSB6dn8VX3Cxs4a4-MD--FmlfwaAkSR8P8HAQ
  3. Exactly Nev. Manships 2 most expensive auction items ever have both been booted countless times but has this had any effect on the prices of the originals? Not one bit. Can't understand why the person who did these Hamilton Movement bootlegs & several others got the label size wrong as they might have fooled a few from a distance in the local fleapit dark village hall Soul night. Also folks know who plays these faux things & who play the real thing
  4. First visit to Eggborough. Couple of quid to get in. Best sound system heard in the year in a Soul night by far. Ridiculously cheap bar. Great people & that little back room where anything goes.
  5. Also 2 in Rotherham & 1 in Mexborough just over the border & not even looked at Doncaster yet. Umpteen Sunday afternoon gigs too jumping on the Horse & Groom bandwagon. Suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
  6. It's the Wife's bloody ringtone so I hear it at least 10 times a pigging day PS, If any of you buggers ring her up now just to wind me up I'll not be best pleased....
  7. Will this do Mark? https://starpointsoulboy.podomatic.com/entry/2014-12-23T11_00_00-08_00
  8. Anyone help me out with a copy of the Beckie Bell album 'In Need Of' please. Not fussed if it is a French or a Greek copy as long it's in good nick. PM please if you can help. TIA, Mart...
  9. Grumble? Thought it was inspired to follow R Kelly with Tyrone Davis. Was also pleasantly surprised to hear him mention Happy People by R Kelly. A great show from start to finish with no grumbles whatsoever IMO.
  10. Down for me too. Why do I get the feeling this will drag the whole bloody thing on a bit longer
  11. Three months on & I am still looking for this. Can someone out there make me a very happy bunny for Christmas please.
  12. Yeah Dewdrop. Our lass was going to get me this for Christmas but as you have delayed it I'll probably end up with socks & slippers now.
  13. Always rated it at about £500 Glyn so for once Manship got the going rate for something IMO.
  14. Playlists, bloody hell I struggle to remember my name at times & you want a bloody playlist! Don't normally do e'm as I normally tell folks to get off their arse's & come & have a listen if they want to know what I play but as it was a different enviroment for me & also a charity event here goes. Gabin - Into My Soul Gil Scott Heron - Lady Day & John Coltraine The Ascots - She's So Indifferent To Me Tolbert - I've Got It Jan Jones - Independent Woman The Pages - Heartaches & Pain The Nicky Newarkers - Woman Daybreak - I Need Love ZZ & Co - Getting Ready For The Getdown Charles Johnson - Never Had A Love So Good Three 60's tunes to finish with Bobby Hebb - You Want To Change Me The Volumes - I've Never Been So In Love Alton Ellis - I'm Still In Love That was it as I ran out of time but if I had another 3 1/2 minutes I would have squeezed this in from the Mighty Mocambo's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9-2i8ibxEI
  15. No it has not. Suggest you get your facts right in future before posting.
  16. There were a few younger folks there but your guess is as good as mine as to weather or not they were students. The night was a Wakefield Unity reunion & it is about 35 years since I last attended as a spotty faced teenager & I for sure am pleased to see younger faces on this so called scene of ours. Last night at Wakefield was mainly about faces from the past getting back together in the original venue & having a few beers & a dance to some great music from day's gone by. If there are a few younger folks there too then that is great for the future of the scene IMO & they were treated to some fantastic tunes played in a great venue over a great sound system on original vinyl like the one below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmthK_mfvBo
  17. I was present at Wakefield Barney & I can assure you there were no people admitted without tickets on the night. As for the 'student' comments here are some pictures on this facebook link & I think they speak for themselves. https://www.facebook.com/ian.bower.96/media_set?set=a.10204522084307346.1073741960.1090165826&type=1&pnref=story
  18. Running Back And Forth - B side of Time by Edwin Starr for me.
  19. £162 for Kurtis Scott. Now that is a steal but if I was the seller I'd not be best pleased.
  20. That's took from my copy.
  21. Does this count? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXPsivw4JAQ
  22. Apparently this little ditty from earlier in the year is rather Funky & was missed by a few on release. Still in stock at juno for a modest payment too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9-2i8ibxEI
  23. Can confirm what Joe (Pikey) said above as have got an original 12" that plays fine on a good quality stylus but if I ever DJ with it it skips & skates quite badly. It was also pressed twice originally with one of the pressings having very tight grooves that only filled about the first inch of the 12" disc. There is also a legit 12" re-issue with a different B side (David Morris - Saturday Night) & as far as I know they play perfectly.
  24. Done that Mike & now on my profile but not showing my sales as saying I have nothing for sale. While I'm here the Four Tops & the Andre Brassieur are ticking along nicely but there has not been a single bid on the Newbeats London demo so someone might grab a rather nice bargain as they all end tomorrow dinnertime. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/martind20770/m.html?item=171516777793&ssPageName=ADME%3AL%3ALCA%3AGB%3A1123&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  25. Bit of Northern, Bit of Modern, Bit of Soulful House, Bit of Crossover, Bit of Ska, Bit of Rocksteady & more so I guess not. Why oh why would I want to pigeonhole myself to just one genre of music when there is so much more out there.
