Modern Rooms
Quite right Mark. Probably because most Modern fans got into it via hearing stuff played in Northern rooms over the years. Thats how it happened for me, guys like Searling, Sam, Arthur, Sean H & Steve M playing newer releases at places like Wigan & Clifton. Wonder how many folks have gone the other way so to speak, got onto the scene via new releases & then travelled back to 60's Soul. Bloody hell that took some writing without using terms like progressed, moved on etc

Tired 70`s Tunes...?
Sister Sledge - Love Don't Go Through No Changes In Me. Awful record & flogged to death. Titles too long as well.

You Have To Wonder Why
Not going into the rights & wrongs of playing boots (been done on here umpteen times before) but if I was DJ'ing & someone did this to me you'd see some 'very strange & twisted behaviour'.

Soulsorts Soulful House Mix
Very nice that Colette. Soulful house at it's best All quality but the Brent St Clair just shaded it for me. Be sure to thank Roger for the podcast thingy. Mart...

Mello Souls - We Can Make It .. Some Infos
Full length clear version of The Combinations here Darran. Takes me back to the days when it was covered as The Chessmen. Nothing against Mello Souls but if the cash was there I know which i'd buy.

The Bloody Snake
Wouldn't worry too much about a Lambrini girls invasion. In recent years we've been threatened by wannabee Daleks, black & white cats & half cooked chickens & we're still going strong.

Al Mason - good Lovin
Same here. Seen loads on FV but far less on Bunky. Same goes for the Pages & ZZ & Co from the same era. Loads of 1st presses about but hardly any boots/re-issues/2nd presses or whatever you want to call e'm.

Al Mason - good Lovin
Agree 100% Aquired a Allan Harris 12" a while back after turning down 2 x 7" copies. Was cheaper & like you say the sound quality is far better. Recently saw a 7" AH listed for £450 Now that's out the way who's gonna send me a King Tutt 12" & an Al & Kid 12" for less than the price of the 7s

Biggest Price Drop?
Royal Esquires springs to mind. Not 100% on this but were there only 2 known copies when Richard Searling & Gary Rushbrook were playing it covered as The Embers? Can't give e'm away now though. Good topic Kev

The Bloody Snake
Caught on with my Daughter. Her & her mate were dancing round in my bloody living room last night to that. They must have played it about 50 freaking times

The Bloody Snake
Seen dafter things catch on on't Soul scene

Al Mason - good Lovin
Thought it was 12" only on Al & Kid. Guess that makes FV copy's 3rd issues & Bunky copy's 4th issues
-
Al Mason - good Lovin
Must be the most expensive re-issue unless anyone knows better? Wouldn't mind betting that if a FV copy & a 12" Al & Kid original went up for auction the FV copy would go for more even though the 12" is far rarer.

Delux Monday Into Tuesday
Baz, Soundfiles are up & running in the Media section of site (will move this thread there & leave a link in a few mins). Can I also ask that you use the new 'Media Player' button at the bottom of the page instead of posting mp3s direct to site. New 'Media Player' is easy to use & also allows you to post label scans, pics of artists etc. Ideal for a thread like this. Any problems with the new 'Media Player' just shout up. Thanks, Mart...

Overkill A Problem ?
Thing is though Andy in a few years time some of these so called friends & sub standard DJ's will have worked their way through the ranks & be big names. The smaller nights are a great breeding ground for future Jocks & some of them make a refreshing change from the so called 'A LIST' jocks who play the same stuff week in, week out.

Overkill A Problem ?
Correct Mak. 'Vault Of Soul' are re-locating along with our 'Modernism' nights. Sure Mark will tell you more in the correct part of site nearer the date but I can tell you they are both cracking venues. Mart...

Overkill A Problem ?
Just used Chesterfield as an example Bridget to follow on from Joe's A B C & D comments. Was not aimed at any specific venue. Main point I was making is that when 'Vault Of Soul' started there was very little on in the South Yorks area.

Overkill A Problem ?
Does don't it Mark Only a minor point with Joe's original post. Barnsley, Chesterfield & Doncaster are not city's.
