  1. Brafa sorted now (thanks Graham ). Still after the Arthur Adams on Inculcation though.
  2. Anybody?
  3. Just a couple of fairly easy wants that i'm fed up of missing. Brafa - Live It Up, Give It Up on Love Bone Records. Arthur Adams - You Got The Floor on Inculcation 12". Already got an Arthur Adams on RCA that's seen better days so want to upgrade to the original 12". Please PM or reply on here if you have them for sale. Thanks for looking, Mart...
  4. Point taken regarding genuine rare stuff like the Parliaments Chalky. When you look back though there have been some pretty pointless cover ups, things like the Cate Brothers spring to mind.
  5. Back in the day it was understandable to stop the bootleggers I suppose but they still managed to get hold of things & even sometimes release them under the covered title & artist. Now though I can't really see the point & it does the original artist no favours whatsoever. Seems a bit ridiculous when a track on a major label like Atlantic (if that's what it's on?) is covered up as mentioned on another thread. Imagine if you were the artist & found out your work was being credited to someone else. Couple of years ago Him by Kenny Thomas was being played on national radio covered up by well respected DJ's prior to it's release. What's the point of that? Had to laugh though as I heard Tony Blackburn of all people play it as Kenny Thomas & a week after Richard Searling played it as Him by Him. Should have known better me thinks
  6. Have a listen to the remix (if you dare )
  7. Good call Mark Was one of the other bits & bobs I mentioned a couple of posts higher.
  8. Got to agree with you all r/e the new Angie Stone & i'm not really an AS fan (not until now that is). Picked it up last night off Fish along with the new Will Downing & some other bits & bobs. Will post some clips up later on the Modern clip thread.
  9. PM'd you Mark.
  10. Or then again he could be here keeping an eye on you 2 Seem to recall one of the c'mon & dance goldmine cd's going for a silly amount to a Japanese buyer a few weeks ago so it's probably just someone trying his luck. PS, like the new avatar guys
  11. Have a look on the current Modern thread Russ on this link. /index.php?showtopic=53758&st=0&start=0
  12. Have a look here for the Sam Dees Andy. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=Sam+Dees&thumbs=&x=18&y=11
  13. https://hardbop.tripod.com/burrell.html
  14. Why not just borrow it off e'm?
  15. Very interesting & informative interview with Linda Griner in this months Manifesto magazine. Says she didn't even know of the existence of the Goodbye Cruel World copys. Must have only been a kid when she recorded it judging by the recent pictures of her.
  16. This has been done before in the (correct) All About The Soul section. Moved to correct forum.
  17. Consider it done Karen.
  18. Seems I jumped in a bit soon with the Ike Strong price. Just seen a copy in sales for £350.
  19. Last copy of Ike Strong i saw for sale was £250 but seems to be in demand at the moment. Jewel seems to have settled at about £200. Sure Simon M will be along soon with a 'back in the day at Soul Bowl' story soon Going slightly off topic but what's the True Image version of 'Dancing' fetching? Seen far more Ike Strongs for sale than True Image.
  20. Not the sort of thing I normally post up I must admit but a friend just sent me this clip of a Do-Wop version of the Bobby Paris classic so I thought some of you might like to hear it. Also wondering which version was 1st. Clip to follow shortly.
  21. Pete S to replace the one he gave away & Kenny to go with his Silver one
  22. Who says CD's are worthless Wonder if someone on here won it https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VA-CMON-DANCE-TOO-1993-CD-mega-rare-OOP-NorthernSoul_W0QQitemZ290168354500QQihZ019QQcategoryZ307QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1Q mdZViewItem
  23. Just had a lengthy chat with Rob & Karen Wigley. Karen has attended a close friends funeral today so is obviously in a bit of a state. They have asked me to thank everybody for their kind words & support. Thanks, Mart...
  24. Not a dig in any way Bazza if that's what your'e thinking. Just that iv'e got a mate in Sheffield who was a big Soulful House fan & promoter & he seems to be travelling back in time musically. Got into 80s Boogie type stuff & Disco & is now listening to a lot of Philly influenced 70s stuff. Wonder if he'll take the next step & get into 60's Northern.
