  1. Now up & running in Media forum on the link below.
  2. Following on from the Protest Song thread in the All About The Soul forum thought it would be good to post some up here. Also gives the new refosoul player a good test.
  3. Now ya talkin GSH brings back some great memories from seeing him in Sheffield at the Leadmill many years ago. Home Is Where The Hatred Is, Johannesburg, The Bottle etc. As soon as the uploading is back on Refosoul gonna start a Protest thread. Can't wait! Come on Mike, pull't finger out.
  4. Too right Ian. They seem to have targeted a large industrial area around our firm in Sheffield as several other factories have had a similar letter & we have checked them out through the local Chamber of Commerce. If our firm is taken as an average from a payment point of view it works out at £72 per person. I'm pretty sure the majority of employers are going to say sod that & if it gets followed up will just take the radio's out of the workplace. Won't affect me personally but it will mean Joe Public will be deprived of hearing a hell of a lot of new releases so already low sales will be even lower thus affecting the whole music industry.
  5. Got a letter at work from the PRS a couple of months ago asking for £288 yearly as we have a radio on in the workshop. Our firm only employ 4 people & 1 of those is deaf! It's a welding/fabrication factory & is not open to the general public. Who the f##k do they think they are when they try to stop folks just listening to the radio at work.
  6. Just giving this a little bump. Anybody got a copy please PM me. Thanks.
  7. Bloody hell Ian, Took me all this time to get used to your Geordie accent err & your Tyke accent as well so don't you go all Scouse on us Agreed on the price though. £60 a bargain as normally seen nearer the £100 mark.
  8. Glad that's cleared up, Thanks Marc IMO £300 - £350 sounds about right for a real copy. Wish i'd remembered about the Will Collins as that really was a bargain. Bidded more than that on the last copy that went for over $600 Don't suppose you've got another for the same price as the one you sold.
  9. Mentioned it the other day on the Pages thread in the 'Sharp End' forum Dave. Have a look on the link below (post 23). /SUNSTRUCK-PAGES-HEARTACHES-t63310.html&pid=737604#entry737604
  10. Anybody got a copy of Buena Vista - He's Okay on Wet records for sale? Please pm with any info. Thanks, Mart...
  11. 2 copy's on Tim Browns site on the link below. https://www.raresoulvinyl.co.uk/catalogues.asp?cat=4&cid=100&StartsWith=W&page=5
  12. Oliver Cheatham version came out in 1987 on Champion records, 7" and 12" Pretty nice version as well. Will post it up when refosoul is back up.
  13. Have moved this to 'Wants'. More likely to get it in the correct forum.
  14. Don Ray - Born A Loser. Not sure of the time but know it's well under 2 minutes.
  15. 100% agree Think all the guy is guilty of is being too honest. Wish all record sellers were as honest & took as much trouble as Johan has. Would be a lot better for us all. If you check out his only other post on here he was helping people out regarding an e bay scam. There are plenty of other folks who ain't into the Soul scene who post sales on here mainly in the e bay sales forum who don't get crucified like this. Not only that but it don't look too good for any other new site members who ARE into Soul music to see some of the responses to his post.
  16. Doc Peabody on the way to you both. Sorry but can't help with the others.
  17. Sorted now, Many thanks Toby Mart...
  18. Lost Robbie Grants phone number so if anyone could pm it me i'd be grateful. Mart...
  19. Don't be silly Roger. We'd Still all be bickering but for entirely different reasons BTW you'd be one of the country's top oldies DJ's
  20. Simon M would be an English speaking American
  21. Just imagine for a minute a paralell universe where our little scene was reversed. Throws up some interesting scenario's. Everybody would own a copy of Frank Wilson exept Kenny Burrell. Pete Smith would be the most expensive record dealer out there but on the other hand JM, TB, PB etc would be very cheap. All you oldies fans would be into Modern & vice versa (apart from Bearsy who'd be into Disco but really be a closet Northern fan ). All the folks who said they went to Wigan but didn't would have been but all the folks who went wouldn't have but would be saying they did. Soul Sams current monsters would be Al Wilson & Dobie Gray & tracks like Ellipsis & Mixed Feelings would be cheap overplayed oldies. Our Modernism night would be called Northernism (or would it be Southernism). I would have won the 3 records I stopped up this late to bid on Any more but remember it's just a bit of fun.
  22. Welcome back Joe.
  23. Actually played the Dynamo's version at our recent Modernism 70's night & it seemed to generate quite a bit of interest (unusual for ow't I play ). Will post it up in a bit.
  24. Bloody hell Malc, Guess that makes you mine & Karens Grandad Gonna see Adrian later so will pass on your regards.
